Default Back from the track :)

Hey guys,

I am here with Andre and mtlws6.

We just got back from a late dinner, the guys (and their wives/GF's) are crashing here tonight before heading back to montreal tomorrow.

Had a great day at the track and we had a great turnout!

The new slicks are working great!

DA was 1685 feet with a ~10.4mph direct headwind. Humidity was fairly high in the morning

Shiftlight was at 6000rpm

Best run was 11.18 @ 122.Xmph with a 1.52 sixty through CATS and full interior. (~3600 pound raceweight) Pump gas (94 Octane)

Taner and I had a great "grudge" match. I didnt hook as well as he did but we were pretty close the whole way down the track

(From memory)
He ran 11.12 @ 124.XX on a 1.52 sixty
and I went 11.22@~122mph on a 1.58 sixty.

It was a great race!

Really happy with how the car is working, need to work on some suspension stuff and should have solid 1.4X sixtys and possibly a 10.9X in better weather.

MtlWS6 went a best of 13.3@106.2 and Andre went a new personal best with a 12.5@116.2mph on a blazing 2.175 sixty.

nice times Chris! Just a few months and the teens will become 11.0's and maybe that not-so-elusive 10 second run

Nice job!

it was a bunch of fun! that is for sure. i don't think my car liked kot lapping as much as i did today, lol!!!! only 2 at a time. it was an 11.doh! day for me, ran a few 11.06's mph was 'bout 125.25ish, my 60's were well i have had better days. last pass was a 1.55 60' one of my best for the day, i had a couple of 1.53's at the beginning of the day but mis-shifted a couple of times, doh! oh well got to practice on a Pro Tree for next weekend's big event (for us Windsorites) Roman and I are gonna try and do us 4th gen f bodies proud!
bottle goes in next saturday morning. i will make one more pass on the drags friday night before sticking the dot's on for the rest of the weekend. i am hoping the grand bend traction, which has always been INCREDIBLE will allow me to achieve a new pb on motor. i look forward to the challenge!

nice to see you agian chris, now next time when we line up look at the tree not over at me

LOL! That was hilarious!

I think I am so used to bracket racing against other cars I just sit there and wait for the "slower" car to go and then watch the tree. (Normally a 1-2 second differential depending on car)

We were running heads up, I watched you launch, and missed the tree! LOL!
(I had a .995 or 1.0 reaction LOL!)

It was still an AWESOME run though! Its great seeing two six speeds tear down the track within one tenth of each other!

I had a great time but I am sunburned like a **** LOL!

Good job Chris. Doesn't it feel nice to have a 3600 lb car that can run so well? Maybe it will help to derail the train of thought around here that says 3600 lb cars can't run fast and they break parts.

Thanks guys and thanks Silversurfer

It was great having Taner and Roman out. We represented the six speed guys well.

Thanks Taner for having a look and suggesting changes to get the car to hook better. I went from a 1.59 to a 1.52 following his suggestion of a 1 pound tire pressure change! He knew exactly what to do just by watching one launch

I am still running stock shocks/springs/PHR LOL!

Roman was running awesome too on 28 inch ET streets. (10.8s-11.1s)

Only sad note is my 12 bolt is now howling like a BITCH on decel and my tranny is dying. (Had to granny shift all day)

I either wasted a bearing or the ring and pinion are messed up. (Might be the crush collar on the pinion backing out) The tranny is popping out of gear intermittently and there is an awful whine from fourth. (Has been bad for about a month)

I was thinking hard on the way home about pulling the cats to gain back the 2mph I lost but I've decided to try to get the magical 10 second pass through cats with everything in the car. I am hoping a couple of tuning fixes will help too.

Aside from those minor issues it was a GREAT day. You can't complain when you can drive 100 miles to the track race all day and drive home without any real problems

BTW We had over 100 cars there, the vast majority F-bodies!

Sweet times Chris.

I had a crush collar on the pinion backing out. We had to put in a soild collar to fix the problem.

Thanks Coach

I am definitely putting in a solid collar. If the gears turn out to be fubar'd I'll be pissed. (2 trips to the track and about 12 passes)

Good stuff Chris! Sounds like yall had some fun. Congrats on the Times that thing is movin for a heavy sumbitch.

Yeah a solid pinion spacer will probably solve your problem. Hope the gears are still good.

I had to go to the solid spacer in mine. My gears would whine after the first pass.

Nice to see you.

Hopefully I see you at M9. I snapped a Jesel rocker arm on the way home. Now to thrash for the weekend.

Oh man that sucks!! Did you have to tow or did you find some way to limp it home?

It was good to see you as well. Your car was flying especially considering you were on ET streets!

Hopefully you can get the car ready for M9!

I may have some video up soon. I have the 11.18 run on tape but Lorie accidently taped over the second half of the run with footage of our two dogs!! ARGHH!!!

You can see the car go up to the 1/8th though

The slicks look great and should fit very easily. (I had clearanced before when I had the 28x10x16 hoosier on the car.
