1st Place, while testing B&M Conv
1st Place, while testing B&M Conv We headed out to our local race track on Friday to test out B&M's new prototype converter I developed. It is nothing to exciting ... yet, see the auto trans section for details. In time trials, she runs 13.417, 13.410, 13.412 ... all with a 1.91, 1.916, 1.92 60' times, so she enters the trophy class and I dail her in at 13.39 just incase. Last week she won a second place trophy while baselining out the stock converter, so she wants a win this time around! First round she runs against a V6 stang dailed in at 16.36. He cuts a 1.2xx light and she cuts a .001 light and runs right past him on her way to a 13.47. The stang breaks out. 
Next run, I dail her in at 13.39 again, air is getting cold at night. She cut another great light and her opponent, who dialed in a 12.02 runs a 12.27 to her 13.49. On the next pass, she is paired up with an older muscle car, can't remember the specifics. Doesn't matter because the guy red lights and gives her the win. Next run is the semi finals, she gets the bye run and eases out of it, still cut a .030 light. In the Finals she is set to race a 2003 Mach I that is dialed in at 12.98. At the last moment I change her dial in to 13.45. They both do their burnout and she prestages waiting for him. He prestages ... wait ... wait ... a little staging war 
He finally stages and right after she does to. Lights come down for her, she cut a .048 light and here he comes with a .063 light. They are running side by side and I can't tell who is in front! At the last 1000', she dumps it and runs a 13.52 to his 13.09 for the victory! She finally scored her first 1st place trophy and it was a good sized one, 3 feet tall and red, white and blue to boot!
Here it is in front of her three other second place trophies (Not shown is her 'Best Effort Award' plaque)! I am damn proud of her!
