Default 14.0 @ 110?? what ET is this MPH good for.

hey guys, i got me a g-tech pro ss for christmas and took her out tonight.

did the 1/4 mile, but i eased into it (because my clutch slid on the first run thru 2 gears ). 60ft was like 2.8 seconds

my e.t. was about 14.0 but the mph was 110!! i'm guessing this is a pretty good mph because some guy ran 11.70 @ 117 in another thread. i did another run, but had to get out of it because of cars, i gave it alittle more off the line and my 0-60 dropped .7 lol. i plan on getting a good run in one of these days.

i have not been to a drag strip yet, and i just put the exhaust on a week ago.

if any of you guys run the g-tech and have done so for a while, what is a good value to enter for the pitch factor? (my z has stock suspension) and i would also like to know what e.t. do you think i should be running?

Wondering the same thing about the pitch factor. Just got an RR for christmas. Pretty sick little device and hope to use it a lot for auto X this year.

yeah its a pretty cool gadget, i got some velcro and mounted it above my right side center a/c vent, but it's telling me 244 hp on a 2nd gear pull seems a bit on the low side

i set my pitch factor in the middle and my weight as 3500.

It can be a nice tuning tool, however you must realize that you cannot take it's results for anything until you run at the track with the Gtech. The et should be within a tenth if you programmed everything correctly, but the mph will be about 3 on the high side. I need to dig mine out and get it set up for the GTO.

blue six, i understand this, but the contrast between the mph and e.t. is what tells me i was hauling the mail. i shifted into 4th before the end of the run and my car has 3.08 gears in it (dont ask, long story, not my fault )

I'd say the mph is good for mid to low 12s, but all depends on traction, 60 foot times, your clutch and how well you can shift. Take it to the track to get a real time and then you'll know

what he's saying is....that run at the track probably would have been a 13.9-14.1 @ 107mph.

I experienced the same thing with my gtech. et would be very accurate...mph would always be about 3mph high. Maybe the gtech "pro" is different....and they have solved the mph issues with it. only one way to find out. just warning you not to get your hopes up from the mph the gtech says. hopefully it is correct though.

The MPH is always high because the Gtech calculates instantaneous MPH at the end of the 1/4. Your trap speed at the track is an average of your MPH over the last 66 feet. If you had everything set up right your time would have been right around a 14.0 at around 107. that mph is good for a low 13 high 12.

sweet!! i think i'm going to take my front swaybar off to get out of the hole a little better, when i launched it harder (and diddnt get a full run) it broke the tires loose, the clutch grabbed good when i diddnt slip it very much. my tires are pretty soft and with those 3.08 gears, it's amazing they broke loose at all. they used to never do it before i got the exhaust.

for some reason it feels like it has alot MORE bottom end. i figured it would have alot more up top but it doesnt feel like i gained as much there as on the bottom.

i was also granny shifting because i desperatly need to bleed the clutch, i was waiting to get my 5 bandclamps from TSP, which i got today. i'm going to get those on and the exhaust tweaked a little, then bleed the clutch good. i'm also going to get a mity-vac and bleed from the top. where do you guys get your mity-vac's from? there was one at advance auto that was like 38 bux, it wasnt a mity-vac brand or anything but it was made out of all metal.

I would not put too much stock, let me rephrase any stock in the g-tech 1/4 times. But I ran a 12.8 @ 110.

Why? I have one of the first original ones that came out (from 1998), and it is very accurate 1/4 et wise, to this day. Like others have said, the mph is off due to the way it is measured as compared to trap speed. Like most people, however, I'd rather take my car to the track.
