Good god, that is horrible! I have never heard of such a tragedy, that must have been the worst thing to see unfold in their eyes ... and they could probably do nothing until the car stopped. My god, that is sad.

I'll bet there will be some new rules concerning fuel shut off. Perhaps they need to put some kind of switch on the steering yoke that the driver has to continually hold to keep the fuel supply going. If the driver loses conscience, the fuel will shut off.
