First time out
First time out Finally took my TA to NED for the first time. Not a bad night, but not all that great either. It was a good night to run, not really hot, not humid, and the track wasn't that busy. I got 6 runs total in just over an hour of time.
My first run ended up being my best run, in both launch and ET. Pulled a 13.817 @ 102.88mph with a 2.162 sixty. I think I shifted to 2nd a little too soon though, and consequently hit the rev limiter in 2nd not wanting to shift to 3rd too soon. Next few runs the launches weren't so great. 5th run the shifter stuck going into 3rd, and the last run the pedal stuck to the floor on the shift to 3rd, so I cut the night short at that point.
Here are all my runs...

3rd 14.694 @ 102.88mph 2.757 60' - spun real bad off the line on this one
4th 13.927 @ 103.54mph 2.323 60' - good shifting, not a very good launch
5th 14.149 @ 90.62mph 2.355 60' - shifter got hung up going into 3rd
6th 17.380 @ 78.28mph 2.420 60' - Clutch pedal stuck.
All the runs were pretty close together as well. My first run was at 6:12pm and my 6th run was at 7:23pm. Never gave the car time to cool down any.

Once you get those headers on and a set of drag radials, you will drop a lot.
By the way, you are very lucky to have a track where you can get that many runs in. 6 runs where I race is very rare in one night, and if you do get 6 runs, you have to be there for at least 4 hours.

Ya, I know I have at least a few tenths drop with some more practice easily enough. Just gotta get around to getting those headers put on, just being lazy about it. Drag radials and gears are next on the list as well. Next time around I'll be taking breaks in between runs, see if that helps with the clutch problems I was having.

Definitely need some more seat time. I'm a little concerned about the clutch right now though. I have a sneaking suspicion it's starting to slip. The shifts just don't have any snap to them anymore. I'm gonna hit the track at least a couple more times this year though, just let it cool down in between runs, see if that makes much of a difference.
the times are pretty good for your first time racing it. like everyone said, work on the launch.
i miss that track. I used to drive up there at least three times a month to race from southern mass. track used to hook better when they ran test and tunes on saturdays and during the week before the sun went down. my old car hooked alright there but the one i got now is a little faster. hopefully i will get home next summer and make a few passes.
