1) if you have 350 rwhp in a 3400-3500 lbs car you should kill one
2) most L drivers cant launch them worth a crap. if they cant get out of the hole, they arent chasing anyone down. not at 5K lbs!

 

my 6spd car w/ a lid, exhaust and free mods, had a hard time edging out a stock lighting. i was on street tires though.

i say - if you're car is stock, then do free mods - if you have the money, get a good drag radial on it. then the lightning shouldn't be a problem. (if it is truley stock).

Actually I ran it with my former 00 Z28, which I estimated to have about 315whp NA.

 

This is going to be a "very" close race. Honestly, if he grips and you spin a little, your going to lose. I personally think your going to lose in the 1/8, but would win in the quarter. Do not put money on an 1/8 mile race. My friend has a bone stock lightning. Stock filter, stock tires, everything. He ran in the 1/8 mile (this is in florida, about 80 degree weather) an 8.8, 2 or 3 times in a row. He ended up running an 8.9 once. He was just spinning a little bit. (not enough to matter a lot, but better tires would equal a faster time) Those cars run a 13.8 stock all day. It seems like your car is right around the same area. I think you would pull him up top, but if he gets traction, his times are going to be consistent like the ones I posted. (Assuming the elevation is the same where you live and he doesn't drive like an idiot)

Good luck, but don't put any money on it. Especially if he mods his car at all, or has some type of a drag radial. Those lightnings are not a joke...
