Default First time at the strip with this car

99 Z28, putting down about 460/410, 4.10 gears and weighs about 3150. Track conditions were right at 50* and prep seemed pretty good. I just couldnt hook for anything. Tried launching at 4K and blew the tires off right off the line. Shifted to second and blew the tires off again. Went into third gear and busted them loose pretty bad as well. It was just silly. 275/40/17 nitto drags in the back with pretty good tread left. I have a BMR torque arm, and koni non adjustable shocks in the rear. I really need the put on the LCAs, some adjustable shocks, and a wider, stickier tire. Trap speed was between 93-95 mph, even with the spinning in first and second. Oh well, I might give it some more trackion and see if the little 10 bolt can deal.
With my setup and a decent 60' say 1.8 or, what should this car pull in the 1/8-1/4?

How old are the tires? Tires are very important. My Dad's car(putting out out about the same power as yours and at 3250 race weight) cut 1.52 60 foots 2 weeks ago on new hooiser 26x10x15 slicks 4.10's in a stock 10 bolt.

I would think with that much power, low 7's or high 6's should be easy in the 1/8th especially with that little weight. I know I've got an A4 so it's not fair to compare but I can run 7.4's @ 90+ in the 1/8th (better if I could get the car to make the 2-3 shift without hitting the rev limiter ) with 329 to the tires and a raceweight of over 3700 pounds. If you want "street" tires, put some Hoosier QTP's on it. If you don't care, put on some slicks. They'll make all the difference in the world. Your horsepower and raceweight add up to a 10 second 1/4 mile car if you can hook it.

Thanks for the feedback. It was just embarrassing. My tires are around 8 months old, but dont have many miles on them. Probably still have half the tread left. I am going to order some HALs this week or next, put on the LCAs, and get some stickier tires. Something else, I was running the nittos at street psi. Probably would have helped to knock 20psi out of them. Just alittle timid about beating too hard on it, as I am not quite ready to shell out $2K on a 12 bolt.
