The only difference speedwise between a 96 TA and my 96 WS6 is the ram air setup and the hood is supposedly a restriction at low speeds compared to a cai.

My roommate has a 94 Z with 3.73's, k&n intake, exhaust and ran a 14.7. His girlfriend ran a 14.9 in her 95 TA. Ive never seen a stock lt1 below 14.

well most of this is due to the different drivers,i know back in 93 our 91&92 z28s were runnin at HRP from 13.9-14.1 and the lt1s were runnin anywhere from 13.6-13.9 i never once saw an lt1 run a 14(except spinning etc.)that was at sea level, now in vegas in 97 my friends 95 ta a4 ran 14.00s-14.1s at 2400' thats roughly 13.5-13.7 at real air.my 95 formula ran 14.2 and my current 96z runs 13.8 up here so basically you have some good runners as well as bad just like all the generation f-bodies.one friend comes to mind he has a nice 97 ta a4,long tubes,52mm,cai,lt1-edit,no cats and poor guy does not know what a 13 feels like..factory freaks!there are a few ls1s that cant fight their way out from a wet paper bag and some that will bust off mid-low 13s out the box

It all just depends on the track.. here in hawaii bone stock LS1 F body's run 13.7-13.9...

The LT1's are in the 14.1`-14.3 range. Fastest I ever saw was a 13.9 out of a stock A4 C4...

im sure at english town or Atco people are running 11's in bone stockLT1's...

Id put my money on the average LT1 not beating a 13.9 at any track. To the guy with 270 somthing bone stock rwhp in his LT1. Thats extremely freakish for an LT1...

I know people with headers..cat back and air intake who only get to 280 rwhp....

YES THERE WAS AN ATICLE YEARS AGO IN GMHIGH TECH WITH A BONE STOCK LT1 HITTING A 13.3 AT 107 MPH.

I PERSONALY BELEAVE THEY ARE FULL OF CRAP. HOWEVER WHEN THEY DYNOED THE CAR THEY FOUND OUT THAT THE RWHP EQUALED TO 340 CRANK HP...A RINGER...SO PERHAPS THERE NUMBERS ARE CORRECT BUT THE CAR SURE WASNT.

You just don't believe anybody do you. WS6 cars dynoed that back then. Standard LT1 cars were in the 260 range. We're talking M6 cars. A4 cars dynoed lower.

You are all knowing when it comes to racing yet your car isn't fast at all. So everyone else's car "should" be slower than your 'Vette because its a 'Vette. You should learn to drive your car and not put down others that can drive.

There were many witnesses to what my car did that weekend, at the track and dyno. But I guess they would be liars also because of your 13.9 dream

WOW!
i know what my cars ran as well as my friends cars run and as stated before some people just cant drive, its nothing personal to anyone.
some cars just will not run like others, its a known fact.had a buddy back in 94 that bought a 92z with 12,000 mi.we did all the same mods that took us into the mid 13s which was not much well his bright red turd would only run 14.20s we were baffled so we checked the engine to be sure it was a 5.7 it sure was! we pulled the cam out to put a zz9 cam in it from tpis, went to the track the following week and it busted off 13.1s spinning a lil bit, come to find the factory cam was nearly flat!wtf!hydr. rollers should not go flat

Hey Rob...stop following me man....Rob im simply stating my opinion...The fastest LT1 car ive ever seen bone stock was a 13.9 by a C4...

it's not my fault that I dont run at a fast track like some people do..

As far as my vette is concerned...We can internet race forever and there will never be a clear winner so who cares...

But at my track my C5 easily defeated the 04 GTO's stock for stock..Thats what matters to me.

maybe at your track your 04 GTO easily killed the stock records made by c5's.

If you actually did some reading a person with a 04 GTO calling a C5 slow stock to stock is really kind a silly....

Your dissing my car when it cost 15 grand more than your base price to base price.....

It looks much better in most peoples opinions...

will out handle your car on a track all day long....

And is faster through the 1/4 mile....

And lets not forget the all to juvenile chick factor of having a vette vrs a GTO.....

The point is that a 04 C5 is better in every catergory compared to a 04 GTO...

But then your dissing my car???????????

I was never dissing your car. I was only saying that on AVERAGE they dont run low 13's...WICH IS TRUE.

And to get back on topic it is often not normal for LT1's to run 13.5's..

But there have been cars/people to do it..

So since the LT1 camaro ran a 13.5 at trach A...and my c5 ran a 13.5 at track B..Both 100% bone stock..

LT1 camaros are just as fast as LS1's vettes??

Most of us realize that you have to have an amazingly strong LT1 camaro and oddly slow LS1 vette to reach that conclusion....Or your both just running at two completely opposite tracks. Wich is the case...

The same can be said about 2004 GTO's...You have to have a very strong 04 GTO to equal the performance of a normal C5...

Look I know it's hard being a 04 GTO owner...I cant imagine buying a car in 2004 that just hit the market ........ one year later the car gets 50 more HP and much improved styling..

that would suck......But getting a still new 2004 GTO after the 05's had already come out for low 20's is a good deal....

To end this...And stop hijacking this thread I will say this...If you ran a low 13 in a 04 GTO and a 13.5 in a also bone stock LT1 camaro...

One of three things has happenned..

1- Your one of the better drivers out there

2- You got factory freaks twice in a row

3- Your track is a ( fast track). And you know what I mean by that.

Now please stop following me and bringing up other threads...It's rude to the origional posters.

2.73 Vette. The reason why the times in Hawaii are slower is the heat and humidity.

You can't have everything.

2.73, knock it off. I posted what MY LT1 WS6 ran and you, yet again, don't believe what it ran.

It seems you try to get in all these threads and say how great the Corvette is. First in the GTO section and now talking about LT1's. Of which you have nothing but conjecture since you own neither.

And its your ego again getting in the way thinking I'm following you. I post where I have some first hand knowledge and you spout off about your C5. Good grief...

in my ol 91 z28 with headers, exhaust(blowmaster), TB, K&N and a few little odds and ends(free mods) I beat down an auto LT1 with exhaust and K&N from about a 35 mph roll. I only run 13.7 and I beat him down pretty good. I don't really see a stock LT1 running 13.3-13.5. Although I do know a guy with a 96 ss 6-speed who constistently beats my other friend with a 98 a4 ls1.

I ran a 14.1 with a 2.17 60ft. at Atco, on bfg drag radials. My rear was peg-legging off the line really bad and caused me to spin the launch and the 1-2 shift (A4). The next time I went with the same mods I went 14.3 at 100.xx, with a 2.6 60 ft. haha. I think the car has 13.7's in it with a good launch. Also the car had 60k miles and still hasnt seen its first tune-up. (workin on that)

My first time out to the track in my 93 Z (Catback, K&N, Falken ziex all seasons) ran 14.25
Added lower control arms for the next time. That night ran 14.11. To keep it simple and consistent I am just letting off the brake and stomping the gas. Surprisingly I am only seeing little to no wheel spin even with the all seasons. I definitely expect to see high 13 runs in better weather. I think some of the times you see on the web are on downhill tracks.

Since people are mentioning cobras. My uncle ran his stock 99 cobra a couple of times while we were at the track. Even with Nittos he was running 14.30's. He is no newby...had a lot of race cars over the years. Anyway, here is a write up from a mustang mag testing the 99 cobra at the track. Even after icing down the motor they scored a 13.70's best, but mostly ran in the 14's. Just in case you were wondering.

Wow this thread is 6 1/2 years. My 100% stock 6 spd 2007 Formula ran 14.20's at Thunder Valley in Bristol, TN. on street tires!

I picked up 1 second in ET's just by going from LT1 to LS1.

Everybody in here with LT1s running short of 13s is slow. My 94 T/A with 196k on the clock went 14.10@97 pedaling it to stop spinning to 60. 60 ft was a 2.05. Bone the **** stock. 05 GT in the other lane only ran 13.7 and he didnt spin.

People that say the LT isnt a good platform need to reevaluate their driving or something hahaha.
