hmmm. changes since last year:

motor: stage III ls6 heads, arp head studs, comp lifters, custom speed in blower cam, back to LS6 intake, MLS head gaskets.

fuel: dual walbro in tanks, -8 An line front to back. speed inc regulator, speed inc fuel rails, 60 lb motron injectors, autometer fuel pressure guage, etc.

Power adder: procharger D1SC w/ 3.7 pulley. SDCE 8 rib setup, big *** FMIC, custom stainless piping, mondo blow off valve. I polished all the piping, brackets, radiator shroud, intercooler, etc as usual.

tuning: HP tuners and a dynojet wideband.

according to alot of people I am setting my goals very conservatively but that's ok. i'm hoping 9.70@138 or so, others are putting the car at 9.50 and faster. we'll see. been working hard, did everything since march 9th. hoping to make shakedown passes tuesday nite weather depencend and if my wideband really shows up 2morrow as they are saying.

few pics. note this was before swapping back to a gloss black Ls6 intake and mounting a polished aluminum overflow for the radiator where the AC would be from the factory

Definitely not in the same league as you guys but going from -
  • LT's w/ custom true duals
  • lid
  • Jantzer tb

And adding
  • G5X3
  • PP gold springs
  • Thunder push rods
  • LS2 timing chain
  • ASP pulley
  • 4400 stall
  • 3.73 gears

Trans has been rebuilt and added a TransGo. Rear end is coming out this week and getting refreshed along with the gears. BMR poly/poly stuff is coming out and BADZ light weight stuff is going in. Once the cam stuff is done I'm going to fab up a ram air setup similar to SUX2BU's.

Going for a realistic goal of 12.2 - 11.8 with stock springs, shocks, torque arm, heads, and basically stock weight. I figure that ET goal should be fairly easy to attain then I just have to work on keeping it together till next winter.

The best part about this project. Everything including tuning will have cost me less then $2k.

Well... I was hoping to get the th400 in and see if I could get below 11.5 with my h/c full weight setup... but seeing how fate decided not to let my stock shortblock live long enough to do that, I'm just hoping to go down the track once this year at this point. But, here's a list of what's changed if she's done by the end of the summer:

m6 out, th400 with 4500 stall in
spohn tq arm out, bmr stock style chromoly in, attached to bmr th400 crosmember
stock shocks out, 12 way rears and r series fronts in.
26x11.5 et streets out, 275-60-15 et radial in
346 h/c setup out, 402 iron block, afr 225's alot bigger cam, fast 90/90 in.
Carpet backing removed, and depending on how long it's gonna take before I have the $ for the motor, alot more **** might be ripped out of the car before it sees the track again as well. Stereo, a/c and some other crap comes to mind. If I pull the motor myself and the engine bay is empty sitting at my house... then alot of crap may disappear from in there, all in the name of a timeslip

But, with any luck, the car will run 10.xx once I finally get it to a track. I'll be getting booted out after the first pass, then I can spend all winter getting the safety stuff done, more lightweight parts, get the fast intake port matched to the heads and an elec. water pump on the car too.

I was really loking foreward to seeing what she would do as it sat, and the plan was to get every lightweight part over the winter so the car would be under 3500 with my 275 lb *** in the seat, do the cage too, and run it that way next year, and then do a motor, but I guess that's not how the car wanted things to go. Oh well.

Thanks guys.

Derek, I'm hoping to make shakedown tomorrow nite actually. My balancer was coming loose on me so I pinned it to the crank tonite and did some other stuff. Last thing to do is install the wideband in the morning and do some 110 octane tuning. if all seems well we'll be putting the car in a 20 foot enclosed trailer and heading to the track

Well I wanted to keep quiet till she went to the track but i like to contribute to the site the best I can so here goes (and I just can't keep my mouth shut when I get new toys).

Last year I was no where near even full bolt-ons sooo...

Adding (yes still): SLP Headers, custom flowmaster merged ORY, 9" with 4.56 gears and locker, 3.5" aluminum DS, Custom TA mount to trans cross member, Spec 3, baby cam , Patriot golds, moly rods, Draglite skinnies, street tune by myself (ran out of money, won't be pretty as I am a novice) and I think that is it.

Goals: To take a full second off from last year. Will be hard pressed but I set my goals high and will be satisfied with just short.

Future plans are to slowly build the car up to take power (cage, full suspension etc...) and eventually (when money is easy) go turbo and pro touring.

I was hoping to drive to Speed Inc. open house but logistics got in the way of getting parts in time sooo not going to be running till middle of the month. I hope to see local guys with there new set-ups there and future events.

Nice new set-ups guys. Some of you guys are really rasing the bar.

Well, here it goes...

Last year - 382 all bore, with the stock LS1 intake still and stock TB, on a TNT 75 shot, with many excuses to boot. TH350 and 3.50 rear gears. I think i stepped down too far from my 4.30's, so I might toss those back in. But it went 10.70@127 off a footbrake on the 75 shot at 750psi bottle pressure. 3400lbs. was a mid 1.5 60t.

This year - lighten it up to about 3100 lbs. Get the transbrake wired up, maybe toss the 4.30's back in, put a victor jr. intake on it with the better TB, put a SD tune in her, and shoot it with a 150 shot. If it goes good, excellent.

If it gets me in the 9's, i'll be happy. If it's south of a 9.80, then i'll either step up the tire size and shot, or maybe toss the 3.50's back on and stay with the 28" tire.

Biggest goal, actually get it to the track more often. I only made two nitrous passes and 5 passes total on the car last year. One was the 10.70 75 shot, the 100 shot pass was a full tenth quicker at 4 mph slower because i hit the brakes before the 1/8 mile marker when the exhaust fell off and i thought it was the motor going. I guess the FUNNIEST part about it, is even with the low bottle pressure, with the 1-2 short shift i did(1000rpm early on accident from the launch), is i picked up 10mph on the 75 shot, hahaha

Got a good post going!

i went from an iron block 402 w/ a baby cam and TH-400 w/ a 3,500 stall (11.17@119 1.51 60' off idle on drag radials and stock suspension)

to a cam-only motor, 6spd, spec clutch, and a little weight out. i'm hoping to still be able to run high 11's.

I've added a little more boost and basic fuel system consisting of aeromotive regulator, fast fuel rails, 60 lb injectors. now i need a BAP.

For the way it sits right now I'm hoping for 10.7's.

all my drivetrain is stock..(gotta work on that next)

hoping to do 10.2's by the end of the year. mine's a street car/show car and i don't want to cage it all out and **** but i may add a nice 6 point for safety, one that tucks out of the way pretty good and doesn't go thru my rear speaker holes.

noyzee is your car full race now?
