LS1 vs LT1
I have a 98 TA with the mods in my sig (full exhaust, lid/tb). My car is untuned and on some worn street tires. My friend has a 97 LT1 m6 with full exhaust, a cam, a tune, nittos 555rs. His car put down 340hp/400lb/ft tq.
From a 25-90 roll our cars are dead even, he might have a 1/8th of a car on me (It's really not noticable, and he's not pulling).
I'm just looking to find out if my car is running poorly when compared to his? He runs 12.7 at 110 with a 75 shot, don't know times without nitrous (and his m6 times aren't that comparable anyway). Any opinions?

wow your gay. he put a car on you from a 25 roll and about 2-2 1/2 from a dig. i was in the car and it definately wasnt dead even. and all 4 times we raced it was the same outcome besides the dig run.

I'm not going to argue, but the only time I didn't spin (we only did 1 25 roll) we were dead even, I did jump a little early that run, but if he's putting a car+ on me it wouldn't have made a huge difference. The under 25 rolls I spun pretty bad, ask Tommy, he was in my car and you could smell the rubber in the air.

I hate it when people lose and come up with excuses. Just fess up, everyone loses. No point towards coming up with weak *** excuses such as worn tires, clutch, etc...
Sounds like you lost to a cammed LT1. There is no shame in that.
Next time try to give the other guy props for the win.

it was also a street race, the both of you didn't jump at the same time, I highly doubt you were both at the same speed when you did jump... the only way to find out anything is to go to the track and tear it up....
Its is also always going to be opinion, whether it was an 1/8 of a car or 2 cars (the car in the back will be able to tell easier then the car in the front!)
There has been alot of racing going on lately and with that has been alot of excuses...its whatever, if the person can't handle losing then he can go home crying like a little b*tch.
I am going to go on record saying this as well.... Corey's car will run an average 13.46 the way it sits.... Corey, you have the potienal of hitting a high 13.2 with your set-up, it is just a matter of getting some tires and learning to launch with them, I am not the type of persont that is going to sit here and say "just because he/she hit a 12.9-13.0 with the same mods must mean you can too" there is too many variable's
***ADDED NOTE****and just cause I am a bigger dick then steve.....Corey shouldn't worry about losing to a cammed LT1.... it is my "STOCK" 98 ls1 that tears the both of you up ....... see you at the BIG SHOW next thursday, and where the hell is derek to ring in on this???

hey just put it this way if they were such a badass engine then GM would have never have upgraded to the LS1. But LT1s are not slow by no means and can be made very fast, to bad about optispark tho.

the 5.0 was one of the cheapest production engines ever built, i personally am not a fan of ford motors, ive owned them and was not impressed. Well I think im gonna do a hybrid and get rid of my LS1 and put an LT1 in my car....not!...Ive heard of vice versa. I mean no offense but you LT1 guys act like mustang owners you talk all this **** and establish a rivalary with your own people because of biased opinions. Hey we are all on the same team on this site, lets just chill out. If the LT1 guy won, then he won. None of this well maybe i lost because...Im tired of everyone bitchin on this thread and takin peoples backs.

Spraying a 50 shot and getting those time is pretty nice, its not an aggresive cam... as far as LS1 vs. LT1 goes... I am pretty sure the a N/a LT1 faster holds a record over a LS1 n/a motor....but that topic is ended now so whatever.

man this is heated, good job LT1 for beatin your little brother LS1, they are both awesome motors, LT1 was GMs flagship motor for a long time, hell if they put it in the corvette it must of been a decent engine right????
stock they run low 14s or flat, ls1s run high-mid 13s, or some factory freaks run low 13s, but overall they are just a little bit better since well...they are newer with better technology.
