Unhappy Damn thin air

First time Ive EVER been to the track was tonight. Had a BLAST. However the freakin thin air up here really put a damper on the night. My best was 14.4 @ 100mph. I was consistantly in the upper 14s though.

Anyone have a calculator that can tell me what that would be at sea level?

hey, it could be worse. you could be running on a track on mars. then you'd be running 50's with air 1/150th as thick as ours. and your eyes and ears would bleed...

Using our auto lookup weather correction calculator.

I'm guessing you ran at Bandimere and picked a run time of 9:00 PM. Here are the results.
Code:
The closest weather results for 05/24/2006 at 09:01 pm

Time recorded 8:45 PM
Temperature °F 73.4
Dew Point °F 28.4
Altimeter Setting 30.12 in Mercury
Density Altitude: 7917.2 feet
Track Elelvation: 5830 feet

UnCorrected ET:
14.4 (sec) @ 100 (MPH)

Corrected ET to Sea Level:
12.961 (sec) @ 110.694 (MPH)

Woohoo that made my day. Matter of fact it was 8:20 when I ran that time and it was 73* according to Bandimere's sign. Thats freakin awesome!

thanks brother. i guess thats pretty good considering it bogged a little too. i need to trailer this bitch to baytown in late fall to get some real times out of it. the only thing that would suck is going all that way and getting the boot for not having a cage.

You're welcome.

I remember a previous thread where you posted dyno numbers on your setup. What interested me was the TEA heads because I have a set of LS6 heads to put on my LS1 in my 02 Z28 and considering having TEA stage 1 ported. Was TEA's porting worth it?

hell yeah! tea does great work and has great customer service. i was in your same boat. i decided this route because i had a set of their older 5.3s and they also performed great. i thought about the afrs but i couldn't justify the extra G. good luck with your setup.

Bandi is a bitch. I think the official baseline NHRA correction for Bandi is about 7% of your ET. Which means for most of us about a full second. Yuck.

Very nice run though. Thats anough to take down a lot of cars in Denver.
