Wolfe, Guthridge, Feraday, lots of others run off the 'brake, don't know what tires, don't care.

skipper, you not caring will keep you slow. its all in the details.

this post is about the 28" tall radials. its sorta an important detail. so are the 1.80 powerglide first gears in all those cars you just mentioned.

here we have a 28" tire with th400 and 4.11 gear. thats fuggin awesome.

The 1.80 glide would make it easier off the brake for sure.

TH400, 3.73's and same tire here

On a good track anything works

You need a good rear sway bar, that will straighten up the launch a bunch. Car is flying thats for sure.

you didn't ask who is doing it with xx tire, xx trans, and xx gear, you asked who is doing it period, and i answered. if you think me not caring about a drag radial will keep me slow, you're sadly mistaken, the only thing i own that MIGHT get some drag radials on it is the ole lady's taurus.... well, i might throw a set on the truck one day if i get bored. but the car, 28x10.5 et drags will do just fine.

Nice times! I have had good results leaving off of the T-brake also on my 325/50/15's Radials. Nothing like these times but with a streetcar, 3,450lbs, TH350, 355 gears, old 355"LT1 with 175HP NX I ran 1.41 60' 9.83@136mph. Most cars hook better off the brake, when the track is prepped, b/c the shock makes the suspension work better. Later Clint

Those are good times no matter how you cut it!

You'll be able to work it out.

Good luck.

We have a NX full throttle box. We don't know why but if I leave off the footbrake it has a very bad hesitaion. If I leave off the brake there is no hesitation cause the full throttle box is already at full throttle. I know I can bring the second stage in sooner for better 60ft. I just don't know how much it will get better. I mean that was the first time off the trailer with both stages. We didn't get to run again.

For all the haters. I set the NX throttle box up to see 2.5 volts of TP so that there wouldn't be any hesitation but there still is alot. The car moves like 6ft before the bottle comes on.

So you said you have a Dry Kit that you are using. From what I've read. What do you have to control the fuel side of it?

Kinda interested to hear how that is setup. May give me some ideas.

You all going to ever take some pics of the car. I know you've got a TON of weight out of the car and I'd like some more ideas, because I have no clue what else I can take out!!! :-\

Hey if you can get it to that weight it dont matter how it looks! I'm still at 3100lbs with me in it. I'd love to be at 2900.

I may put a 2nd kit on the car for launch control and put my big hit on as a 2nd stage so I can control my launch.

Powell

Stock tank
Walboro intank
NOS inline
Stock lines
Stock rails
60lb injectors
and a maxed out maf

we all found some sneaky ways of taken out weight. You can't see any of them either. You will not think this car is anything more then a 98 camaro with bigs and littles on it with a cage in it. I think it looks good but the paint is alittle ruff all the way around.
This car will be 150lbs lighter soon enough.
This car is also a hardtop stripper.
Wheel tubs make a big difference in weight
Chromoly everything is good
We are using stock upper and lower front A-arms cause there was only 1lb difference from the BMRs. We have a aftermarket chassis shop Chromoly K-member that is way light.
stock Torque Arm is light
Off the shelf Moser 33spline 12bolt with an Eaton posi. (heavy)
TH400 (heavy)
Steel drive shaft (heavy)
I gutted the wiring harness in the car..from the inside to the out. Still stock pcm and bcm but everything that wasn't needed was gone. Lights and blinkers and dash are the only thing that work. Since it was a stripper this was easily done

We are planning on a 25.5 cage, with a whored out 5in narrowed fab 9in, and a powerglide, with a chromoly driveshaft...Then we will have the Speedglass all the way around with a pin on hatch and a fuel system to boot.
The new motor that will go in the car will be quite abit faster. We are doing this with around 700rwhp for now. Just imagine over 1K...
Everyone at RPM has their own goals for the car. My goal for the car is to weigh in at 2600lbs with me in it with the new motor and nitrous kit on it. This might be impossible but I am going to try. At this point we can add the weight in the rear of the car for whatever classes we want to race in. Or change the tires around to, or up to a 29.5/10.5W...We will probably never use that tire but it has enough room with a 12in wheel to fit under the car. We might end up putting the big radial under it and run in some drag radial classes. This is a work in progress and won't see the track like this till next season but it is plenty fast for now with the street car setup in it. LOL

If you don't mind, did you do anything with hp tuners to help out in the fuel department. The stock maf is delivering all that fuel? I figure that is about 250rwhp worth of fuel. I'm not saying that it isn't, I simply haven't tried that big of a dry shot. This makes me want to do away with my wet stage all together.

Very impressive!
Tell us about the motor?
Is this an all bore or stroke?
What internals?
What compression?

I was kinda not wanting to do this since we don't have any suspension on the car and I have already been on the bumper in another car. Without any swaybar it is hard to say if it will go straight with both wheels up 10ft in the air. LOL. It doesn't have any wheelie bars or anything. I tightened the front up to act similar as travel limiters. It helped out tremendously. If we would have had enough time to run again I would have tightened the front up one more and probably the rear also and sprayed both off the brake......I wanted that 1.25 60ft and the 5.5x pass. I guess that will have to wait for next weekend.

As far as the 1/4 goes....at this point we can't make it through the traps with 410 gears. We will probably go down to a 3.42 or lower.
Post up the TIMEslips!
