Best of luck with the car, I think you have just scratched the surface with it

The glide itself saves close to 50lbs... and with my new hood and a couple other little things I will get the car just under 3000lbs... it should work well with the glide, especially with the spray... Wade is the one setting up the car, so if he says it will work... I am confident it will

And yes... I will still cruise around town with it

Is that under 3000 pounds with you in the car?

On motor you'll gain a couple of advantages with the TH400.

1) Able to run a slightly tighter converter compared to the powerglide and run a similar ET (deeper first gear)
2) Better manners on the street
3) Better ET potential NA

On the spray the glide would work well for sure. If your raceweight was 2500 pounds and you were running a 5000 stall nitrous converter then the glide would kick ****. jmo of course

Cheers,
Chris

Congrats! nice a 9s street car. I just like to get my LT1 in the 11s on motor. Then hook the spray to it and run 10s.

Roofer Tom went 9.81@138.35mph 1.30 60 ft. with his 421LS1 NA and a glide... I don't think his raceweight was 2500lbs

Anyways... Wade has put together enough winning combinations, so I am not about to second guess him...

There is still more power to be had out of my 427LS7...

I agree that sometimes a glide can be a blessing. Sometimes you want less of a "hit" on launch, and a glide provides that. Hell a friend that has a pump-gas mild 434 SBC and a 3800 stall converter behind a glide has gone 1.42 60 foots at 3200 lbs on a 10" tire. So they can be done, although I agree that street driving a glide takes a little getting used to.

At this stage of the game, I am not looking for it to be a daily driver... just to get to the donut shop on cruise nights i

My race weight at the time was 3,350. I have a 1.96 1st gear in the glide. 4.56 gear in the rear and a 30" X 10" tire.

Nice runs man. Your car looks great.

Thanks Tom!

Roughly how much power was your car making when it ran 9.8's?

My race weight is currently 3400lbs, but I am working to get it down to 3250lbs by the time the glide would go in... My 427 makes about 650HP at the crank, and I have TNT Ring kit on the car as well (100-250HP). I have 4.10's and plan on running a 28x10.5 MT stiff sidewall slick... Do you think a glide would work well in my car, and what would you reccomend converter wise... something that would work on the motor as well as with a small shot...

Thanks again!!!

Good to know... we are in the same HP range My 3 disk current nitrous converter and 4000FT DA are killing my NA times (10.5@129)... I would love to see 9's NA in better air, and I think that the right tranny/converter choice might get me there!

So I went to a track.in Montreal today for my second outing with my car... Same setup as last weekend with the 150HP jets still in.... I did 3 spray and 5 motor passes.... All within a tenth of each other! Best spray pass is 9.6@147.8 1.46 sixty and 10.4@136.1 1.51 sixty on motor... The DA was much better than last weekend but track prep was not as good.... I'll post slips and videos soon!

Thanks I checked the DA and it was 1000ft for my NA pass and 1300ft for my spray pass.... My slicks are pretty worn and have a net set for next weekend... There is still 150lbs to be taken out... My OD tranny and hydraulic cam are holding me back... Has anyone run 8's with with hyd cam & OD tranny?

Actually Steve Drumheller (sp?) who had that LPE TT C5 (pewter FRC) went 8.9 with 4L60E.

No f-body has ever run 8's with a OD trans.
