Default first time to the track, went BAD!

me and my m6 stock Z went to the track last nigth,
my car got a competely Fried clutch, when i let go of the pedal it never grips.. and revs realy high before it does it, and upshifts after 1-2 then the cars revs up about 1500-2000rpm when i shift,

also i am on a bald 245/50R16 tires,

my best was 13.7@101, with a 2.2 60f, that was my only good run,

almost all of my other runs where realy low 14s, 14.03, 14.09 14.05 always at 100mph-102mph,

most of my 60f was 2.5 2.78 and 2.8, and one time 3.2,

here is a slip,

14.036 1/4m
101.4 mph
2.857 60f

the grip on the trach was horrable, i tryed lounching at 2500spm at the first run and realy easy on the pedal.. and it was just a bournout.. everytime i lounched at over 2k rpm it was just a burnout contest..

put with a clutch that is so done that it has NO feel at all, on bald 245's and my first time ever to the track, on a car that i just bougth, how is it? with that speed at the end isn't my car pretty healthy?

i hafe just ordered a LS7 clutch with a ls2 flywheel, hafe bougth a loudmouth that i havent installed,

with better tyres and new clutch, what is the best way to lounch the car?
i was hoping to get it in the low 13's when it still stock

sounds like you have a baseline, although it's kind of a bad one with the clutch and tires problems.

Sounds like you know a new clutch would help out a bunch, so I'd start there and then find the limitation of the tires. Or you could always do both and then have a better baseline before modding!

Good luck!

I know how you feel man, I went myself last night and ran some 13.8,14.1@104-105 w/2.6,2.5 60ft times. Was a big dissapointment seeing as I ran 13.32@108 in cool weather with less mods and a weak clutch and tranny(which has since been upgraded now). I had severe traction probs along with running in 86deg weather with 75% humidity. Next time I go out i'll definetely have some DR's along with some cooler weather.

yeah i know about the clutch, i smoked it like 3 weaks ago, but last nigth was maybe the last drag-nigth here and i just could not miss it, my clutch will be hear in next week i hope, worst is, that i will hafe to learn to lounch it all over agen

if i would get the 60f down to something like 2.1-2.2 then i would always be in 13 something and that is fine.. but 14's in að ls1 m6 is a bad thing..

What were you expecting for grip living around iceland

Atleast you broke into the 13's. I know what a slipping clutch feels like, and it's never entertaining to know how much money they cost to replace.

Let us know how the next track runs turn out.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck...but honestly man, straight up, you have no business drag racing with a setup like that. You're putting yourself and your car in danger. I would have just saved yourself the embaressment and get your car working properly, then go blast some good times.
