Default G-tech accuracy

. I used to have the old G-techs. They seemed resonably accurate. 0-60 and 1/4 times seemed to be accurate but the speed would usually be a few miles per hour too high in the quarter. I just got a newer G-tech pro competition meter. After messing around with it for awhile and finally getting it calibrated I took it for a few runs. My clutch isnt very strong on my car so I didnt try to launch it too hard. I have a 2000 FRC with the stock airbox cutopen, and a catback exhaust.
1st run

2.3 60ft
1/8 8.72@90.0
1/4 13.09@114.3mph
0-60 5.4sec

Second run I warmed up the tires and did a more aggressive launch(still only launching at ~1500rpm)Tires spun very little
2.1 60ft
1/8 8.46@90.5
1/4 12.82@114.59
0-60 4.9sec

Do you guys think these times are accurate? With a good Launch I should be able to get like a 12.6?

Default G tech

I have a G tech meter and last year I decided to compare it to the drag strips timming.

I hit the G tech button as soon as the second stage light on the tree was lit.
I then compared what I ran to the timeslip, I found the ET to be within .1 of a second on all the runs I did. The mph was always about 5 mph higher than the tracks times.

This is not because of the accuracy of the G tech meter is off, but due to the way the track measures your mph. The G tech meter is an absolute time at the end of the 1/4 mile. The track takes an average speed over the last 60ft. Hence it is a slower time.

That is the way I understand it. Despite people thinking Gtech times don't count I found it to be fairly accurate!

I hope this helps

Cheers Andy
