The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
As I mentioned, there are a couple of things I believe I can do and will pick up a little with the same power.I was able to use the knowledge I've gained from Madman along with lot's of testing and dial the car from 1.40s down to 1.35 even when the track was going away. The forthcoming changes will pick this up even more next time out. Gator - I will say that there was something going on at about 150' out as my car and others kept making a pretty big move there. Pretty hairy a couple of times and took some hanging on to keep it matted.
I'm aiming to run as many heads up events as possible this year and Eastside has given me a setup that makes power without pushing it (or water) and I'm only spinning it to 6800.
It's hard for me to make a progress post without paying homage to the guys that have helped me all along the way. Eastside, Madman, Nitro Dave, Ricky at NX and Geoff Skorupa all have been key in helping to get the car to where it is. I had a lot of help yesterday from Geoff, David Caine, Bernie and Crystal. I'd been making quite a bit of solo attempts and anyone that runs a race car knows you can't do this easily without a lot of crew help. David had a 30x magnified plug reader that made me learn that I was blind using my 10x glass. You can dial the tune dead on with a tool like that.
The hood is a VFN Sunoco Wide. It's a cut to fit and does run all the way to the windshield. I'll post up more pics of it soon.
Thanks again to all on the congrats.
