Default Stall times

I have been reading that people are dropping their 1/4 mile time by .5 with the addition of a stall converter. I know there are plenty of variables such as mods to the car, stall size, suspension, ect. My question is if the .5 reduction in time is going from a street tire to a drag radial and a stall or if it is just a before and after on a street tire. In other words is the .5 off of just a street tire, and is the addition of a DR going to drop the time another 1-2 tenths on top of that? Wondering because if I get a stall now I'm not looking to get a DR until later on.

not going to drop your times with street tres and a stall alone...you will just spin...the 1/2 sec et drop is including drag radials

i agree that your not going to be able to take FULL advantage of the stall with street tires, however you will most likely still be able to run a faster time depending on driving skills...For reference sake i dropped .5 off my 1/8th mile time with addition of my converter and i had drag radials for all my runs both befre and after converter install...

That is kind of what I figured. I need to figure out what I am going to do. Don't want to put a drag radial on my Z06 rims because I know I'll get caught in the rain or other bad weather with them. Don't know if I want to buy some and put on the stock rims strictly for the track since I only make it 2-3 times a year if that.

I dropped .5 sec w/ stall and gears upgrade w/o any drag radials. But D/R is a must though. That's my next thing to get coz my street BFG KDW2 only hooked ONCE and got 1.8 60' then after that it was all over the place.
