Cool 1/8th last night

Went to Cherokee raceway 1/8th mile last night in Rogersville TN.First time there in about 2 years and 1st time in my z28 at any track. Temperature was about 85 degrees. Had some ok runs. The first run was against my friend in his 98 Mustang GT auto with 4.10, Headers, cold air intake, off road x pipe and dumps and a 125 wet shot of nitrous. I just went to the line, didn't spin off any debris and didn't stall up any.

ME GT
+.4348----- +.1269
2.3051------2.0842
6.1852------6.1101
8.7362------8.7052
9.2952------9.2679
80.49-------79.96

Off the bottle he ran 9.8@75mph and he bested an 8.997@81mph

This next one was against my fiance in the Mach 1 and it was her very first time ever at a track racing. She did excellent for her first time. Mach 1 is bone stock to the air filter. (needs changing)

ME MACH1
+.3048------+.6989
2.2762------2.3161
6.1672------6.2562
8.7182------8.8580
9.2780------9.4382
80.39-------77.56

She wound up getting a 9.2 on her second and last run beating a H/C/I foxbody by .1 and 1mph after chasing it down and passing it.

This one was by myself nobody in the other lane

+.1711
2.1979
6.0679
8.6018
9.1577
80.94

And this last one was against a 94/95 5.0 cobra m5 with Drag radials, 4.10, 150 shot headers and some sort of exhaust.

Cobra Me
+.6112----------+.1079
2.0669----------2.2522
5.8847----------6.1201
8.4537----------8.6481
9.0188----------9.2031
79.63-----------81.07

My other 2 friends that came with us ran also. One has an 02 ws6 with lm1 A4 2.73 and ran 9.1 all night also. And my other friend has a p1sc 97 cobra and ran 8.30's on dr's all night.

One notable car that i was sorta impressed with was an 05+gt auto with intake , headers, exhaust and some kind of gear running 8.9

All my runs in the z and hers in the mach 1 were made without airing down the tires and without any kind of launch at all really. Just out having fun at the track. Next time we'll try a little harder to hit 8's.

Glad you had fun. Is rogersville up in the mountains? Just not exactly sure where this place is, cuz we have similiar mods -exhaust. I havent ran mine yet but i guess that if i hit 9's and not a high 8 like ive seen many do ide be a little concerned. my 68 ran mid 9's with the 327 and 2.73 gears and open diff. thats why i dont want 9's anymore. you just made me nervous .

lol well if you stall it up and launch any at all i'm sure you'll hit 8's. I'm sure i will be in the 8's when i take all the extra stuff out of my car and trunk and let some air out of my sweet bald center mastercraft tires. lol seriously my car was no where near track ready so dont worry too much. rogersville is sort of in the mountains, it's about 1 hour and a half away from bristol tn 1/4th track

Well i guess 1550' isnt to terrible. I think my western Ky average is 600ish ft in my neck of the hills. I'll google some examples and see for kicks n giggles. Thanks confidence adjustment bro.

sounds like it was the same car. And yes it was a red gt so it probably was him. I guess i might throw a 3.73 out back and some decent tires soon. My fiance now wants to mod the mach 1. So i guess now it's time to hurt the bank account lol. One day we should have a little car get together around here. Seems to be some alright cars running around locally now.
