Default Questionable MS3/ETP times

Ok so heres the story, I went to the track about 3 weeks ago and could only muster a best of 12.35 at 113mph and I made a post on here regarding the time since the mph and ET seemed very slow. Well after observing a logged run it appeared the car was pulling timing so I brought it back to my tuner and he adjusted the car and it seemed to run better. After taking it to the track today it seems much worse. Here are my two runs for today

Run 1
1.796 60ft
8.103 1/8
91.59 1/8mph
12.526 1/4
109.83 1/4mph

Run 2
2.059 60ft
8.616 1/8
90.52 1/8mph
13.069 1/4
109.35 1/4mph

The only things that have changed since my last trip were that I ditched my Borla for a hooker catback and the adjusted tune. The kicker though is that the temp today was pretty high (88 or so) whereas last time it was high 70s and of course the car ran hot due to the amount of people at the track and waiting in line ect. My question is why does the car trap so low, is it all the heat or possibly something else or should I not be worried.

i told you last time put gears in the car and you will trap 114-115 in good weather! 4.10's!

Yeah I know, but gears come with a rear and I don't have the cash at the moment. The funny thing is I trapped 113 last time and the car wasn't running its best so I'd hope for more than 114mph with some 3.73s. Could the heat possibly hurt me 4+mph or more since it was supposed to be tuned better.

It looks like its laying down some on the second half of the track, your 1/8 mph shows you should be trapping a bit higher in the 1/4.

91+ is really good for a 8.1x 1/8 ET.. but the 1/4 mph isn't. Thats only a 18 mph gain on the second half of the track.

Mine, although a 6 speed will usually pick up 24 mph with my small mods.

You might look into seeing if your converter could be somewhat inefficient if the tune looks good.

Yeah I defiantly think the car is falling on it face on the big end and I'm worried it might be the tune, considering the trans is freshly built and the converter is new as well.

yeah your falling on your face big time up top, do you know exactly how much timing you are running up top? My guess is that you were pulling timing becuase of heat towards the end of the run. What are you shifting at? Pm me sometime we need to meet up im at 24 nd hayes

Jeff, did you go to Lapeer again? Lapeer is such a crap hole, but close. You went 12.3 last year right? Lapeer's mph is always off anyways. I'd believe the time but not the mph.

Your times and speed seem good for your 60' times. What did you end up putting down recently on the dyno? Where's the video?

Yeah I went to Lapeer and I know its a crappy track but I ran 12.35 there at 113 a couple of weeks ago on a 1.8 60' I run 16" salad shooters with MT drag radials and have stock 3.23s I plan on going 3.73s when I get a 12 bolt because the car is driven a lot (pretty much a DD) and I wanna run reasonable rpms on the highway. The car dyno'd 362rwhp unlocked on a mustang dyno yet doesn't come close to your 117mph trap which is why I think there is a big tuning problem.

Jeff, next time there is a private track rental at Milan I'll let you know. Especially closer to October with cooler air. You'll have a much better time and its just as close for us as Lapeer. I went a couple weeks back and got it 6 runs in two hours trying to let the car cool off in between runs. Could of gotten in x5 that. Lapeer has too many variables going against it.

Yes, gears would help both you and I. Where did you get your trans rebuilt? I got mine done last week from Lakeside Transmissions. Awesome guys over there.

Mowtown has a rental in October that I've been waiting for but if you know of any others let me know I'm usually willing to go anytime. A local guy built my trans, hes a friend of my dads and has been building transmissions for 25 years so he knows his stuff. I'm very happy with it, the shifts are firm and fast and he gave me an unbelievable price. In the meantime looks like I'm gonna have to bust my *** to buy a rear with some steeper gears.

Will do. I'm planning on the Motown Muscle too. It just plain sucks that a rear end is $2500 bucks. I just spent $2k on the trans.

maybe not enough up high, your car hualed as in the 1/8th and should have been around 114 at the 1/4 mark somethin is hapening up top. Gears will wake it up for sure. What do the heads flow @ .600 lift.

Wow that's promising. My car has the same mods yours does, plus some (heads, suspension) and I've gone a best of 11.82@116 in about 2000 DA and 55* with a TCI 3500 and 3.42s. I definitely want to throw some 4.10s in this thing and get a TCI 4400 like I had in my old car. Wonder if it would hit 122-123 in good air?!? That would be badass.
