my car has trapped 125 and gone 1.3 60' times keeping the frontend on the ground. its a delicate balance of weight transfer.

I knda wondered that myself, but you gotta look at this: 6 speed, good clutch, slicks, 4:10 or better gear, @6000 rpm clutch dump. It could happen. Well, It did. Any way My 10.20 and my 10.35 runs had 1.41 60 fts but the tires stayed about a foot off the ground for the first 60 feet. I feel his car would be faster if he could get the wheelie out of it. Proab. 3 to 4 tenths and a couple mph. Never the less he def gets props on pulling that wheelie off!!!

Hey guys thanks for the compliments and glad you liked the vid. My tires are 28x9x15 MT ET DRAGS. 4.10 gears, 8" ATI converter that flashes at 5100. My cam makes all of its power between 5500 and 6000 rpm. That combined with my suspension and low race weight makes for good weight transfer. I actually am looking for a new cam that will peak a few hundred rpm later. I am thinking about putting the G5X4 back in and retarding it a degree or two. I'll give LG a call and see what they think. Its just sitting in my garage collecting dust.

jesus I've never seen a car in that speed range do that! Now lite is your car just out of curiosity? I have been running in the same speed range off the footbrake with a crappy goodyear radial, but now have switched to a 28x10.5s et drag, I hope that doesn't happen LOL. Similar setup, 402 with a loose n/a converter (goes to 5400 on the brake) 4.10 gear.. but at my 3440 weight it hasnt' done any more then pull the front tires off for a couple feet and settle right back down. That was one hell of a ride!

I forgot to mention I actually do have travel limiters but I guess I had them set too loose.

I "think" my car weighs 3,060 lbs with me in it. I weighed it last year and I was out of my car when I pushed the button and the print out said 3,060 lbs. At the time, I assumed that the weight was taken when I pushed the button but I am now thinking the weight must have been taken while I was still in the car. There is no way my car weighs 3,060 lbs by itself. There is not much else I can do to make it lighter. I do have a pin on hood I was thinking about installing but now I am hesitant to do so. I don't think the front needs any more weight taken off.

Glad to see everything came together for ya Derek, that was a very nicely executed wheelie!!

I paged Bryan and the rest of the guys in the shop that had a hand in putting your motor together, well Ill say it defiantly made our Monday go a little easier!!!

Now quit showing off and lets see what kind of numbers that thing can really put up

Do ya'll really think it is too risky to do that again? Can I lose oil pressure at that angle? I got the video I've always wanted but unfortunately no one was there with a good camera to get a good picture. One of my friends is going to be at the event I am racing in at Kansas City on November 3rd. It's a day time event and he has an awesome camera and knows how to use it. I was hoping to lift them high again so I can at least have one photo of my car's belly. I guess its a case of do at your own risk.

Interesting. Our project Z/28 weighed in at 3090 w/o me at the LSX shootout. Car has stock glass and body parts except for a 26lb VFN hood. How much do you weigh? What weight reduction have you done beyond the regular stuff?
