Nice video. Reminds me of when we drug the bumper, broke the block and messed up all of my suspension. Those were the good old days before the wheelie bars.

I had to know for sure if that weight from last year was right so I weighed my car again last night. This time I had a friend with me. I had him stand on the curb and press the button as I stayed in the car and pulled onto the scale. That way I would know for sure that the weight would be with me IN the car. I was really expecting to see right around 3,060 lbs because I really believed that last year's weight HAD to be with me IN the car. Well, it turns out last year's weight was indeed the weight of JUST my car. My weight last night was 3,360 lbs. I couldn't believe it. I have taken so much off of my car I just knew it had to be below 3,100 lbs race weight. I guess my cage and subframes and torque arm, etc. are all heavy enough to offset a lot of the weight I have removed. I have no idea whatsoever how anyone can get there LS1 f-body below 3,000 lbs race weight. On my car that is obviously impossible.

So my race weight really is just above 3,300 lbs.

P.S. I weigh 240 lbs. The weight last night was with 3/8 tank of gas and a laptop in the car.

<3000 raceweight is extreme gutting for sure.

Good luck next time out, looks like low 10's are in your future.

I know what you mean. I weighed my car again after I put the dash and panels back in and I was surprised to see it at 3127 without me. I figured it would be around 2950-3000

Hey just one last update for the year now that it is over. I ran at KCIR on Saturday with a bigger cam. The cam picked me up 15 rwhp across the entire curve so I was hoping for maybe a tenth or two and maybe 2 mph.

I tightened up the travel limiters hoping to keep the front end down this time. Evidently I didn't tighten them up enough because on my first pass I pointed the front to the sky again. Had to shift into 2nd in mid air again. I tripped the 60 foot beams with my rear tires again and had a new best 60 foot time of 1.45 and that was on the rear tires. So I had a buddy push down on the front while I tightened the travel limiters even more and finally the front end stayed down the rest of the day.

It was a great day of racing. My best 60 foot of the day was 1.34 and I went 10.28 @ 129.10 mph that pass. We took my exhaust off and ran open headers and I went 1.37 and 10.27 @ 130.03 mph.

Needless to say I am very happy with these results for now. I just wish my car was making the power it should. If it were I'd be knocking on the door of the 9 second zone. I have all of next year to try to achieve that goal.
