my first time at the track
today was my first time to the local track and i wanted to share/get feed back on how i did. my first run i had .592 react time and ran a 9.6 (1/8 mile) @81mph. my other runs we similar (but slower). i could not hook up. my best was 9.610 w/ a react time of .603 and 83mph. i was runnign street tires cus well beign poor and in the military moneys not flowing in like i want it too. are those respectable times? how can i hook up better ( i noticed i hook up better on the street than on the track).
thanks

Don't worry about your reaction time, you need to learn your clutch. You don't want to just dump your clutch (street tires),you want ride the clutch just enough so she doesn't spin. I ran a 8.75 (worst time a 9.1) on street tires with a M6,you just need to practice some more and get some sticky tires. Good Luck next time your are at the track!!

Everyone has to start somewhere, and as mentioned the more trips you make to the strip you'll find out what the clutch and tires will hold. Keep at it, don't get discouraged and have fun.
