Default MTI 2008 viper results

The bone stock viper that MTI recieved dynoed 546 rwhp...

After..

-headers
-no cats
-air intake
-DR's

The car dynoed 585 rwhp and just ran a 10.7 at 137 mph...

yes I just said 137 mph!!!!!

Here's MTI's post

Well after a long learning process and a few close calls with the wall we were able to get the car to go straight down the track. We were running M/T ET Streets on 16" CCW wheels with the stock front rolling stock.
The car was very unstable at the top of the track and down right dangerous untill the we were able to put some miles on the diffferential. So needless to say we were never able to run the car on the gas. Hopefully we will be able to make it out to the track on fri night to try it on the gas. The car dynoed 585 rwhp and 557 rwtq before we left the shop to head out yesterday.

Time slip reads(having trouble getting it to scan):

60'......1.85
330'......4.82
1/8.....7.13
1/8 MPH....107.89
1000'.....9.08
1/4....10.73
1/4 MPH....137.32

As well Hennessy ran a 2008 viper with...

- headers
-exhaust
-no cats
-DR's and ran a 10.7 at 133 mph ( on street tires he ran a 11.8 at 135 mph ( yes i said 135 mph)

Damn these things are beaste

Damn! With a better 60' (more gear) that car should run at least low 10's.

Not to nitpick but ET streets are not drag radials.....didn't look like they helped too much though with a 1.85 60'. These cars will have no problem going low 10s @ 140+ once the 60's come down (or if they run at a private track rental with -1200ft DA <ducks and runs>) Amazing cars and with the ZR-1 and GTR coming out, there hasn't been a better time for enthusiasts -the muscle car era is now!

And WTF is up with Hennesey calling BS?

Interesting. Now I know that I can smack a Viper around...
.

.
.
.
for the first 60'

That is amazing MPH. Must be doing 130 mph right out of the factory in good air.

Thumbs up

That is seriously flying for just bolt ons but it also makes the C6 Z06s running 10.8s (10.98 bone stock) with ONLY drag radials added look even that much more impressive as well.

Though I know these Vipers aren't quite done yet either, there's more left in them with those sixty foots.

Took the two years for 1 out of 20,000 C6Z06's to do that...

The vipers will be doing it like an normal thing..The mph will have no problem running high 10's to low 11's with normal drivers at normal tracks.

Normal for a viper is a big dyno sheet and a shitty time slip..... sorry. Ive seen a few run at the track (1/8 th mile )and they cant get out of the damn 8's.

i can only imagine how they are on the stock tires. the 03+ srt-10 had no traction in first gear stock. so by adding more power...im not really sure thats going to help that much. and most of the drivers of these things aren't the best (i was one of them ) having well over 400wtq at 1000 rpm's is SICK though.

Ive ran plenty of 7's in my stockish SRT10 ( 1/8 mile)...Just takes a lot of practice, and feathering the throttle for the first 40 ft

Normal, as in the average Viper owner?
You make it sound like they'll all be doing it in any weather conditions and even with an mediocre driver behind the wheel.
The finesse it will take to hit 10s on OEM/factory street tires is something only a handful of people will be able to regardless of whether it's a Z06 or a new Viper.
Yes there will be more stock Vipers hitting 10s than stock Z06s but that doesn't mean there will be hundreds doing it either.

And it took modding the viper to do it, so the modded vipers will be doing it with normal drivers on normal tracks. Assuming the normal driver has a modded viper which is pretty unrealistic in itself.

Beside all the bs, those are very impressive numbers coming from the srt10.

Well, generally when one says ET Streets they almost always mean the bias ply DOT approved 'street slicks'...the radial is typically referred to as the ET Drag Radial or ET Street Radial as is shown here:
http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/strip.php
I guess it's all kind of open to interpretation.

That's a good point, we're actually arguing bone stock Z06s versus a bolt ons/modified Viper LOL...I know the car has only been out a short while but has a purely bone stock (headers, CAI and DRs is NOT bone stock) Viper even gone 10s yet?

When a vendor website says etstreet they usually mean the bias ply. On the forums all of us with radials just call em ET streets. I'm gonna cite the original post here for two responses

The bone stock viper that MTI recieved dynoed 546 rwhp...

After..

-headers
-no cats
-air intake
-DR's
Notice that it says in the mod list, DR's, Drag radials. It's only a matter of interpretation if you don't read his whole post He just said ET Street later on, but he did write DRs in there

I found it humorous that it started with "bone stock viper dyno'd", then followed that with a mod list.

Like I said..Only one owner has taken his SRT10 to the strip and he ran an 11.3 at 129 mph his third and final pass...

Even 129 mph is good for a 10.99

And wait till some boby who can drive takes one to atco on one of those crazy 1500 ft below sealevel nights...133 mph trapps anyone?

Not trying to pull straws but the average person can't afford a viper or Z06
(me) so the average person with one of these cars will probably not be modding it & going to the track(viper).

i think alot of people forget about the weight advantage of the vette. yes the viper has more power, but not enough to make up for the wieght.
and you have to understand the average z06 owner is like my father. take it out on pretty days, and maybe run it at the track 5 times throughout its whole life.
hell my dad has had his 04 for 4 years now, and it hasnt been at a dragstrip parking lot muchless on the track its self
