i dont follow. with that duration, if a bigger lift cam made more power(faster at the track) its not gonna change the manners of the car. big duration, big stall, drivability isnt going to be comprimised anymore than it is.

im not arguing if its a street car or a full blown race car.
id just like to know the reasoning on the cam. l92 is in my future.

you knwo, i was having this conversation with a buddy of mine and it really boils down to this. only ls1 owners (net responses) seem to think that a .630+ lift cam is a street cam and they dont find any issues with it...until they break a spring and chuck the motor. running a nice mild .600 lift cam works with the intake and heads and you dont have to worry about big dollar lifters, huge spring pressure, or replacing springs every other month. esp on a street car. if this was a max effort trailor only car, then i am sure CW would have gone .700+ lift. but this is a street car.

thanks John, you nailed it...in fact my last motor had a .734 lift solid roller, Jesel Mohawks...blah, blah, blah. .. This low lift setup is good to about .640 lift but it just wasn't worth it to pick up another 7-10 hp and be maxing out the valvetrain. TJ, the top of the intake runner on the CNC'd L92's is extremely thin and you really start to gamble if you machine for larger valvesprings. I really didn't see the point in trying to spin a 454 over 7000 rpm either.

good point. those cubes, with that stroke is asking for bearing failures.
thats a sweet ride if i didnt mention it.

i run a small cam in my 6.0 for that same fact. peak power doesnt get you down the track the fastest sometimes.

The cam in my car isn't that big either. I think it's around 630ish.

Bringing this one back up, are the tires tucked in, what wheel/backspace are you running, is the rear narrowed?

he's on vacation for the week, so he won't be on...I know the s60 is narrowed 2" each side, and I'm not sure on the back spacing of the wheels...I know they are 15X8's and the fenders are not even rolled
pics from PINKS all out:

er...the wheels are in there somewhere
