You'll drop .4 just by going in sub 50 degree temps.

when soaking up randy's advice, bear in mind that ss he had went 13.1 in the 1/4 with headers and a tune and a few bmr susp. upgrades as well as drag radials. launching the cars will be totally different, as his car bogged from almost any rpm under 3500 it seemed. but, the ta went 13.2 with a lid and slowmaster, every car is different. i've seen better results shifting ~5500. riding out the gears produced the same 1/8 mph, but killed my 1/4 trap 3-4 mph every time.

Lol My feeling is that If I shift 3rd ar 5200-5400 I will do better but I will try both sides just to appease ppl, they are trying to get me to put some DR's on it but I think I want more runs on street tires just to see what I can do

yeah, same thing here, went to the track on Wednesday, ran consistent 13.4s-13.5s at 107-108. I'm running on stock crappy street tires spinning off line each time from about 2600-3000. 60s were from 2.2-2.4..... lowest was 2.19. I thought i could get down to low 13s maybe a high 12 with mods in sig, but i guess not with my tires

You do have a good trap though

why would you ever short shift if you're wanting the best time? I'd shift @ 5800 minimum. You're not even reaching the top of your powerband @ 54 which throws you too low in 4th.

surely not 5200rmp.... I can see 5800, but the earlier you shift out of 3rd, the lower in the range you are in 4th.... and then you have all the time it took to shift.

exactly. look at the tq curve on a stock cam car. most of the "fast" bolton cars are shifting between 5,400-5,700. hp is not carrying the cars down the track, that is evident as the tq curve is forever long and flat, where as the hp curve basically sucks.

54-57 is much better than 52..atleast you've hit peak power somewhere in there

i disagree. i had an a4 big stall car that trapped 110 hittin the rev limiter hard on 2-3, i can see the same car with an m6 easily going 112 if not faster, as i don't feel the shift points were optimal on that a4 setup.

huh>? what does that have to do with what I said

1st off hitting the rev limiter won't net you any speed/time

2nd you want to stay where the peak power is, torque is not going to start dropping dramatically until after peak power

My advice, get tires, slip the clutch at 3,500 just enough to leave hard and not induce tire spin.

On DR's with 335rhp I've gone 12.44@112.9 at full weight.
Bone stock including tires, 13.1@106.

This was in my 01 SS that is long gone.

Get that 60ft down to a 2.0-1.9 and you'll be at 13.0s to a possible high 12
