mph to low????

mph to low???? just wondering what people with the TSP torquer 2 cam are shifting at going down the track. my mph seems kinda low to me and i am wondering if i am shifting to high or if my gear is to steep. i shift right when my factory tach reads 7 so i am guessing i am right around 67-6800 rpm. i also have 4.56 gears and run on 10.5 x 27 qtps. going through the traps my tach reads about 72-7300 in 4th gear. i'm thinking i have a little to much gear. i don't really want to do a 28" tall tire either. my mph is only 114 115 when i should be around 118. i am not to worried about mph but let me know what you think

Your stock tach is slow.
You're probably shifting the thing at about 72-7400. Which is seemingly high unless you're packing some serious headflow. Even then, that cam is not exactly huge.
That definitely could kill a few MPH.
Try about 64-6500 on your factory tach instead. And invest in a shift light.

You may be shifting a tad high, but the car looks like its at least (if its a cam only car) 5mph down and that wont cause that, a mph or two at best shifting the car a couple hundred late. Ive had my shiftlight not work and shift mine at 7400 (peaks at 6400) well past where she is done and be 1.5 mph down at worst really.

and yup i was at memphis. the memphis trip showed me why you have to screw your rims/tires. i never ever had track prep as good as it was there... lol. nothing like doing a burnout and having the tires move on the rims.

I have the Torquer 2 and I shift at 6500. I am using the Raptor Shift light because my factory tach is way off. I trap pretty consistent 116 and my last outing I trapped 116.99. I actually feel I need to shift a little higher, maybe 66-67 but I haven't tried it yet. GL
