Default Going to the track for the first time.

So I am going to the trck for the first time at atco tomorrow night. I want to know will I need a helmet, and what is a good tire pressure before my burnout and how long of a burnout should I do? I am ashuming that I should power shift first until I get rolling and then once started shift into 3rd. anything I can take out beside the spare tire? I plan to have the car as gutted as possible. Any tips?? My goal is to run a 13.2 or lower in the night

I read both threads at the top of the drag racing section

i agree with the waterbox part but i say DO a burnout, i ran my best 60 foot doing a burnout on street tires.

And most tracks make you wear a helmet if you have t tops

depends on what type of tires you have, do a burnout just fro the fun. and at my local track, 13.99 and faster must have a helmet.

helmet required any track that is IHRA or NHRA certified. U can pick up a dirt bike helmet that is snell for about 150 bucks. Also if its your first time ever at a track expect to run mid 14 for the first time. A 13.2 is what a pro can do in that car with no mods. Its a big learning curve but by the end of the day you should be able to get into the mid to high 13's.
