how do u like the zues fasteners... did u wish u used reg old pins??? how hard was it to set that up? any pics or help would be much appreciated... i dont wanna **** it up lol
I like the dzus a lot. They look much cleaner than pins and are very easy to lock and unlock. I made the mounting brackets out of aluminum angle and strip from home depot. The 3 down each side I lined up with and used the factory fender mount bolts. The 3 in the front mount to the area the top of the nose mounts to. Kinda a pain in the ***, just a lot of measuring, cutting, trial and error, and adjustments. It was worth it in the end, though.
Like I said, though, I don't drive it much it's a weekend toy. If you get lazy, this thing will cause you to not check your fluids and stuff often enough on a driver. Make sure you really want the extra weight savings of a pin on enough to live with the inconvenience.

I started by setting the hood in place and measuring everything. Then I dummied up the brackets and marked everything with a crayon. Mark on the fenders with the crayon where the fender bolts are, then measure how far in away from the fender you want the dzus. Some of it I eyeballed like the angle of the dzus backing brackets because the hood is curved you can't just mount them level with the fenders and nose. They have to be angled up a little. Just trial and error. Checked, double checked, then cut.
It's best I think to get close with your marks then drill the holes in the hood exactly where you want them so they look good then mount the brackets according to that, not the other way around.

how about put the marks on the fender and hood....tape
mount the undrilled brackets (fender hole yes, not the dzus spring holes
make the dzus holes in the hood but don't put the screws in
marker through the hood onto the brackets and there ya go...
then trim the brackets as needed....

my old hood (glasstek 4" bolt on cowl hood) weighed 50lbs even with all the brackets/hood struts.
