The one that comes near the gas tank, thats it. If yo have removed the cats, the rest are not needed.

I agree as with a non-cats y what is the differance in the area with the heat shield and with out.

However I had to remove the passengers firewall one for the turbo. But the only one I still have is the drivers side one that covers the brake lines. the one covering the gas tank had to go for the sumped aluminum tank and I changed to dumped before axle anyways.

I hucked all of mine in the trash on my Formula and 93. The reason he brings up the gas tank one is that if you have the massive stock muffler in there that likes to get hot it can cause your gasoline to heat up, expand, and cause problems. If you have a muffler other than the stock one I would throw it away.

What I can say is I have a Corsa exhaust which is Larger Diam tubeing, and it sits REAL close to the tank. Then later on I had a new over the axel tube bent and no matter what, it sits close.

With that in mind, heat sheilds are there for a reason. For either comfort, or safety, I am fairly sure if I remove it, id be fine, but that a chance that I am not willign to take.

Like said, it is up to the poster to decide. From his other post, I think he took out the door bars so who cares if it blows up.

I haven't, but the one by the gas tank can't weigh a pound and the other two are smaller.

To be honest i'm leaving mine in as i'd say 1-2lbs MAX by removing them. All out stripped drag car go ahead, it's not even worth the time for me to do it.
