cage cert?
cage cert? how does getting a 10 point cage certified work? where would i take the car and do i take it while its still striped or after we throw it all back together? never had to do this b4 but will after winter for next year as much info as u can give would be awesome
When the cage is finished, a NHRA cert inspector can come down to the shop, or you can take it to him and he would give the approval. One thing I do know is they do not like and most times fail a cage if the welds look crappy or even if somemone smooths them over.
I would Prob paint it before getting the sticker so you dont paint over it.
Id wouldnt put the interior back in until it's certified, just incase more work needs to be done. Your fabricator should know where these guys are or ask a local speed shop.

alright i think were gonna be welding it up ourselves (well not me i cant weld for my life) my dads pretty good but if he feels he cant his friend is a pro and is really good will the inspector come to a private residence or is it better to just take it to them?
Id hand hima NHRA book to ensure it will meet the requiremeents

As mentioned, you can pay a tech guy to come to you, or visit a local track when they have one or during a race that would require one (example: Lucas Oil, big heads-up race, etc.). Guys try to get a group of cars together to have a tech come out that way the cost is less. The NHRA / IHRA rule books should have all the info you need. If you're still not sure, use the contact info at the front to call your local tech guy and ask!
