dumb question about catback and traction

dumb question about catback and traction ok my car is farly stock and times are rough to spend money in mods now so I am mainly taking stuff out and making the car lighter. Here's my dumb question. by taking out the stock catback which it says to be 50 punds of fat weight. would I be hurting traction I mean is under the axle and I was told that the car will benefit more with lest weight at the front and less unsprung weight, but more over the rear tires. you get the idea..
