Strange or QA1
Hey all Im looking at replacing my konis for a drag setup, call it a 80/20 street strip car. Looking at either QA1 or strange, Id like to hear from some people who have run both. Also what is the fixed rate on the strange shock? Comparable to the qa1 r?

have you considered running afcos? i know its more expenesive but in my opinion its a lot better shock. i use to run qa1s and it was a big difference when i switched over. but the qa1s will get my vote if moneys an issue and you want to stick between the 2

They fit the top just fine.On the bottom you will have to drill out the stock A-ARM because the distance between the bolt holes on the shock and a-arm are off by about 1/8 of an inch. Its really not a big deal at all to do.Would of been a lot easier if the shocks bottom mount would of been slotted, but they are a really nice piece considering the extra work.

Cool, what I meant to ask about were the springs, the coilover springs that come with them dont look like they will work with the upper spring perch, Will the qa1 325lb springs be alright? Id like to use those as they come down to fit the coilover perch and are stock diameter at the top.

The strange springs work just fine with the stock perch,i have them on my car.You might want to call strange enginering with any ?,you can order from them also.

Strange sells two different kinds of shocks. The street adjustable shock comes with a stock style spring that fits the stock upper perch just fine.
The drag only shock has it's own upper spring perch on the shock and does not use the stock upper perch. This spring is the one that looks so small at the top.
I have the street double adjustables and they kick ***. Feels great on the road, but when you go to the track, loosen up the rebound and the nose rises like a drag car should.
