And I still don't have drag brakes or manual steering.
Kept interior plastic and even a dummy stock radio so the car looks "stock".
I think you went a little far there.
My Camaro would be 3000 with stock seats, power steering, full stereo if not for the iron block and blower/ic.
If you're talking with the driver, if you're a little 140 lb guy then yeah maybe.
I know I have a solid 300 lbs left to take out, so I should be able to get it to 3050 or so, if I lose a good bit myself, probably 3000 or under with me in it.
But, you start adding nitrous bottles, 8.50 cert stuff, 12 bolt rear's, 3.5 inch dual exhaust it gets alot harder to get down.
I still have the stock k member and rack in the car and stock a arms, that stuff is 50 right there, speedglass windshield and back window is another 50, race wiring the car is another 20, and a 3 gal cell in the nose is about 20 more. minitub is about 30 lbs, go as narrow with the rear as possible will offset the added weight of a set of beadlocks, wolfe door skins and the door bars out is like another 25 lbs. There's alot that can be done, just have to be willing to spend the $ and time.
Since then I have done:
Kirkey seat--23ish lbs
door bars--14 lbs
Speedglass rear window--34 lbs
Rear drag brakes--25 lbs
Narrowed rear slightly and went spool--10 lbs?
went from Spohn bar to TRZ setup--20-25 lbs?
Thats 125 ish lbs right there. My goal is 3000 dry. I think its pretty light for an iron block blower car.
I still have PS, stereo, cruise, heat, etc. Pretty much lost the A/C and power brakes.

Being a formula it is lighter then a Trans Am or WS.6 but still heavier then Camaros.....
I know for a fact, car for car a z28 camaro with all the same options except the camaro has a disk changer and no ABS and I have ABS and No disk changer my car was 140ish pounds more. I have a NON-ws6 car. Same drive line, t-tops on both etc etc
Firebirds on average have some what a dissadvantage. Formulas tend to be a bit better but who knows.
There are different recipies for loosing weight and just changing a driver could swing final race weight by 25-150 pounds easy.
The cars have been gutted to with in an inch of it's life and I have seen personally a Hard top 99 HOSS cut to peices where only the cockpit remained, I mean people get pretty nutty when it comes to weight.
Axe the stereo and all the wiring for that and I bet that's another 50 with the speakers.
That stuff is heavy.
