Default NHRA requires two return springs for throttle?

I'm setting up my new motor using an accufab 4500 TB, and have brackets to mount n20 solenoid and throttle cable to the intake. There is a return spring mechanism on the bracket that I'd like to cut off, but I was told I need two return springs per NHRA rule book. Is this one of those rules that is never checked, or does the stock pedal return along with the TB spring fullfill that requirement? Thanks.

Correct, two springs needed on a carb or TB.

My tech guy is **** as hell. He tried to tell me I had to have 2 on my STOCK OEM TB. This rule is meant for carbs. In fact the IHRA book says carbs. I could see putting 2 in a 4150 TB just to get the guy off your back, but on a stock TB?

Default common sense

common sense tells me if it were that big of a deal, someone already would have produced and marketed one of these.

I put two on mine... Friction in the cable liked to hang it open with just the internal spring, and I figured I might as well be legal if I was going to add an external spring.

I'd just put the 2 springs on and be done with it, no need to have a headache if you don't have to.
