Default Wiring question regarding Relocating Coils Packs

I would like to relocate the coil packs to the firewall.
But I notice that the injectors and coil pack wire harness share a common light brown wire not allowing me to move the coil pack harness.

Is this a ground wire?
Can I just cut it and spice in a longer wire to allowing me to relocate the harness?
Has anyone else run into this issue?

Hmm, trying to remember when I did mine. All I did was seperate the 2 harnesses and reconnect the coils under the cowl.. Don't remember any common wire?

Yea, my two harnesses can't be separated more then 2 to 3 inches unless I spice the wires.
Anyone had this issue

I extended the harness when i moved my coils to the front of the motor. Did that years ago, never had any issues with it.
