If you have the BMR k-member with mounts on it you wont need a motorplate.

Hey Madman,

Not to highjack the thread but I am building a solid roller 383 LT1 combo (should go lower 9's on the spray and mid 10s NA) in place of my 355 combo and I am using your solid motor mounts and a PA racing k-member. I was thinking about going to a motorplate over the mounts. Is there any advantage to the motorplate over the mounts? Do I have to worry about the block cracking from the motor mounts? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

You should be fine with the mounts you have. On an iron block I have never had problems at the power level you will be at.

Will a BBC fit in a 98 F-body with headers. This car I got for my boy has an BMR k- member in it. I have a BBC laying around so what the heck. Who makes headers for this combo. any info and links on this combo would be great.

The motor will fit just fine. BMR makes a k-member or I make motorplates. Headers will either be from Lemons or custom.

you can also use hooker 2455 headers with minor modification if you prefer the cheap route.

Use a big hammer or notch the firewall on the passenger side to get clearance for the primary tubes.

^^^ couldnt agree more. i cut the cowl completely out even though you only have to cut a little out, im running both motor plates and midplates. also im running a manual rack with burkharts k member. personally with a BBC i think the one advantage of having a motorplate midplate setup is getting the motor in and out of the car. also if you need to set your motor back or anything due to whatever mods you do it gives you that ability.

Thats why I like third gens... not much you have to do at all. A factory based deep oil pan will not clear a factory k-member though...
