Default need help

Im taking out my interior for rollbar installion on a 2001 camaro ss auto matic A4. Need help removing center consol.
Does gear shift have to come out how do i do this im stuck.

there is a u shaped clip in the front of the handle closest to the radio. pull it out and the handle will come off

Yep.

E-brake handle has to come off also if I remember right.

u can still get the console off with the E-brake handle on. handle fits thru the slot on the console

best way is to pull the handle straight up and pull up frm the rear or the console for the E-brake handle to slide thru

Whats the chances of breaking it though? I did it on my 96 and about broke it. Its one screw... why not?

i havent broke mine that way. im just really careful about pulling the console up and not to bind on the E-brake handle anywhere. the slot is wide enough for the handle. handle has to be raised a lil to remove the console this way tho
