He's asking how much he can narrow his rear end with a 5 inch BS wheel without mini tubing.
His second question is what other modifications will be needed in order to do it succesfully.
I'm in the same dilemma man, best answer would be too go measure it and see how much clearance you have.
Maybe call up one of the sponsers here and see if they can help you out.

I am guessing you have a 15x10 with 5" back space. Mount the new tires on the rim and pull out the rear end from the car, then align the rims, center them up so they fit perfect then see how much room is in between with the car lowered to the ride height you want and check for rubbing on the wheel well.
Keep in mind a lot of people go in 1/2 inch increments, you don't have to do that. Most places will narrow your rear end as small as 1/8" increments. 2.5" narrowed per side may fit good, 2 5/8 or 2 3/4 may fit better or worse.
So as my suggestion stick the rim and tire you'll be using and get an exact measurement where the fit and look how you like them tucked in and you'll have the exact length, then subtract the difference from your other rear end and you'll know exactly how much to narrow it, remember 1/4" wider or narrower can make a big difference when you corner to avoid rubbing or when you lower the car some.

That's a pretty good obvious idea i never thought of. haha. Thanks. So is it 2 or 3 inches per side you can narrow with out a mini tub, lca relocation problems and spring perch problems?

You can narrow it as much as the rim offset is changing.
A 10 inch wide drag rim for a stock width rear needs to have a 7.5 backspace. So, if you go to a 4.5 inch backspace wheel, you can shorten the rear 3 inches and it will leave the tire in the same place. You can only narrow it about 5.5 inches before there's nowhere to put the control arms, phb and shocks. But, that will let you run a 15x12 wheel if you wanted to, there's a couple people on here that have done it.

I went 3.125 per side and a 10" wheel with a 4.5" backspace. Have to be careful because sometimes 5" or 4.5" backspace arent exactly that. I dropped a plumb bob over the tire on the old wheels 7.5 BS and marked the floor, then put the tires on the new wheels, marked the floor again and measured how much needed to come off the rear. Its worth it IMO, looks a lot better but naturally you cant use stock wheels any more.

Kp did you have to use off set lca are any other mods to make that work? I have sold myself on a 3" per side with a 5 to 5.5 back space to tuck the wheel inside the wheel well with no mini tub

My old car was about as far as you could go with a 10.5x28 ET drag without a mini tub I think, had to cut quite a bit out with 3.25" off each side and 5" BS wheels. Still had non-offset LCA's but they were pretty small diameter.

Those were M/T wheels with OMF (or OFI or something, I forget) beadlocks. They were 12" wheels and they were cut down to 10" with a 5" back space when the beadlocks were done. They dont make the rear wheels any more.
It will be close with a 5 inch, you can always use a 1/4" or 1/2" spacer with 5/8 studs if you got stuck and needed more room.

how far can you go without messing with the E-brake? I was wanting to go 3" on each side, but was told i would have to loose my E-brake and i cant do that im a M6. I was also told you can keep you e-brake. You just have to make a bracket to hold the cable?
