Default Help with rear suspension set up!?!?Please!!!

A friend of mine from the track observed a few of my passes and said that my car was "frogging"!?!-The whole car is lifting up instead of squatting in the back. I have an A4 with 4.10 gears and a 4000 stall Yank with UMI torque arm, subframe connectors and lower control arms with relocation brackets- I guess my question is--what hole should I be putting my lower control arms at?? -And will this prevent frogging or whats the problem?? He said I'am probably losing maybe a tenth because of this!! Stock motor with bolt ons and I'am leaving the line at about 2000 RPM's with a sixty foot at 1.7 foot breaking and occasionally have traction problems while running 275/40/17 Mickey Thompson drag radials!! Any suggestions?? Thanks

rear is supposed to lift up, not squat.

your rear is lifting up because your suspension is working.if it could squat then the rear tires would also be able to come up which would make them lose traction.

I have heard that a car will lift right before squatting/transferring weight back. I think that is normal. 1.7 60' is not bad for a stock street car.

The pic does look funny. But does the car rock back on the tires right after that moment?

I hate to say this but I don't know i've never seen my own car leave and I'am just going by what my friends have said and how my pictures look--I guess I should get someone to video my car next season!! The other picture of my friends camaro just looks better and he doesn't have relocation brackets I'am wondering if I need to move mine--I guess--he never has traction problems as well!!

You should have the relc brackets at their lowest setting. 1.7 60fts arnt to bad; but with that gear an stall 1.6 should be no prob.A set of bigs n littles will help alot.

the lifting you are talking about is called anti-squat. it is when the suspension is pushing the rear tires down causing the separation between the rear axle and body. this hits the tires hard planting them into the ground.. moving the lca's to the lowest hole will cause the most antisquat. too much antisquat will cause the tires to unload faster meaning it would be easier to lose traction further down the track. the easier you hit the tires on the launch the longer they will stay planted. say if your car spins off the line you would need to move the lca's to a lower hole. if it hooks then spins a couple feet out you would need to move the lca's up. you just have to find the happy medium. you most likely wont have traction problems either way until you start making more power. just play with the lca's in the relo. brackets and see what works the best for you. its always a good idea to write down what you changed and then the results that way you dont try something you've already tried. also try to do this in the same day so you will have the same track conditions, weather conditions, etc. hope this helps.
