Default Light weight spindles

http://www.racecraft.com/proddetail....=330049&cat=23

Any reviews on these? Looking to shed weight, but still want street ability. I couldn't find if these were drop spindles or not, or if they work with other factory components, i may give'em a call.

The Racecraft are drop spindles. The quality blows the PA stuff out of the water. The Racecraft ones work with Strange 3rd gen brakes but every thing else will bolt up. They are "RACE" only pieces.

We have drop spindles as well. THe spindle and brakes weigh a little less than the stock spindle.

I have the santhuff ones in the picture and they will build them any way you want.droped are stock. They use spherical bearings instead of ball joints. and you will need 1st gen bracks. they sale them direct. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/inde...lbumId=2855202
These where when we where playing with where i wanteted the tire to be also 4 inches more narrow.I love them but the only draw back is with the bearings is travel. i think 8 inch over all.

What is the weight per side of just the spindle?

I'm guessing they work with 1st gen brake kits...

Also, cost and availability?

I would be after the 2'' drop.

They might look "OK", but the geometry on them is wrong. Which you probably wont be able to see untill it's too late. Call up madman and get the Burkhart or racecraft ones.

We have the spindles set up for 3rd gen brakes. They are 1150.00 with Aerospace and 1350.00 with strange brakes. I don't have an exact weight on just the spindles. I'll have to get Chuck to weigh them. With brakes and the spindle they are 21 pounds per side. Or, a few pounds lighter than the factory spindle.

That is outstanding for the weight, wow. Do you have these ready to go out the door?

Will you sell the spindle by itself?

We can sell the spindles alone. they are 569.00.

What drop are you looking for? We can do Stock 1" 1.5" and 2"

I am pretty sure we have a set of 1.5" ready to go. We have everything for the others but would need to send them out to powder coat.

Those in the pics are Santhuff. The Santhuff stuff is second to no one. They are C/M and aluminum. The weight is no where close to what a stock spindle is. But they are high as hell.

We consider them a race part. We have not tested them on a street car and do not recommend that.

I need to add them to the site and get some pics up. Gotta get some work done on the site this week.

Care to elaborate why? I would assume a lighter chromoly steel piece would be just as strong if not more strong than a cast steel piece. Are you guys just afraid of what could possibly happen legality-wise if something went wrong on someones car while on the street? I would understand your reasoning 100% if this were the case, we all know the kind of sue-happy people that are out there now.

PS, I'll be your street-car guinea pig if you want to throw a set this way i'll sign the necessary waivers too!

Do it! Your site is confusing sometimes with regards to what parts come in particular kits and whatnot.

Mine will be a "street" car. My car is a little lighter than most though.
