Default Our custom HVAC delete panel

well deleted my HVAC yesterday and decided to make our own delete plate for free sense we have a ton of aluminum around. Didnt take long at all and just used the gasket from the box as a outline and cut it out with tin snips, filed it down and added a little custom bowtie just from fun. haha. looks pretty cool for something we did for free.

The polished part will be facing the engine bay so if you look closley in the the engine bay you will be able to see it, but we will know there is a cool little piece down there.

the pops did that part so it is hard for me to explain, he is good with tin work.

But it is a tool with two beveled edges and basically pressed in how far you want it, it is done in straight lines, so everytime you change direction you have to start a new line. I want to learn how to do one day

Got a question on making your own HVAC plate... Does the sheet metal need to be a certain thickness? I think it does for certain NHRA races and such?

Yes, .032 aluminum or .024 steel.

here are pics of the install, kinda hard to get but you can get the point. so much more room for getting to the rear plugs for people that have done it before with the hvac installed.

from inside through glove box. so much room to mount nitrous electronics etc.

from inside engine bay

coming for ya in 09'
