WTF , Only .28 gain after mods. Ok after a small cam 216/220 and 342gears and 32hp and 50tq on the dyno(tuned), I only gain .28 and 1/2 an mph in the 1/4 ,Car hooked up good, Am I totally Stupid or does that sound right.Both times at the track it was 70s.

Ok I can see the 30hp giving 3 tenth but how come hardly no mph gain ,shouldnt that increase, dam you would think with the 342s installed my mph would go up and I would gain atleast a tenth in the 1/4 alone. And if thats the case I only got .18 from 30 hp and 50tq

any weight mods??
but usually 30hp would get you 3 tenths and 1.5 to 2mph roughly
everyone also thinks gears are gonna help alot, but really guys hardly see a tenth gain from them if that.. one reason i still have 3.23's
once you get a bigger stall and 60 ft better your mph should jump on up.. i just think you need roughly a 3200-3600stall now
good luck and try agian when the weather dips into the 50-low 60's and I bet you will see 112 traps

No weight mods still on stock wheels with nitto drag radials,I never gut my car because as I run at the track is how I drive it on the street.I would expect around a tenth from gears used to have 273s now 342s,Bigger converter is not gonna happen ,can just about hook with the drag radials now.I think I should get a LS6 intake for my next mod.

Last May it ran 12.40s all day at 110.00 with 58deg,30hum,30.18pres, DA 321, would that make a lose of time and mph. This is at the same dragway, all runs. Also I am going threw the traps at 5700rpm,is that to low ?

Re: WTF , Only .28 gain after mods. 13:1 AF and 29 degrees on pump gas? I don't like the sound of that. Have you tried 26 degrees of timing and compared?

Re: WTF , Only .28 gain after mods. Does that seem messed up on the timing , Would 26 degrees of timing hurt me, I was under the assumption that 13.1 was optimized. If I am gettin no knock retard wouldnt 29 be better than 26

Cam has 4 degress ground in, and it is dot to dot, used to 60ft at mid 1.8s and now it 60s at 1.70 to 1.77 depending how I launch, Brake stall it or just mash it off Idle. It even ran a 1.64 on a 90 shot of nitrous hitting it about 15 out.Hooked up pretty good on motor.You would think with the weather and me hooking up it should altleast gain 2 mph

Re: WTF , Only .28 gain after mods. It ran 3 passes at 12.46,12.47, 12.47, with all mid 1.8 60ft. The Mph was 110.07, 110.05,110.09.That is before cam and gear install, I did 3 motor passes and they were 12.26 at 110.75 with a 1.77 60ft,12.19 at 110.73 with a 1.7060ft, and 12.18 at 111.01 with a 1.72 60ft, the 111mph was with a off idle smash no brake stall. Im heading back to the dyno this week is there anything I should look for or try, any help would be nice , Thanks again everyone.

Same track and different DA can account for a huge amount of ET and MPH...I picked up 2 tenths with just the temp drop from 70ish to low 40s...

Re: WTF , Only .28 gain after mods. No the shift points before cam and gear install was,6000rpm, and now the shift points are 6400rpm that according to the dyno graph. And the car is running 88mph ,before camshaft and after cam and gears. According to all my timeslips my 1/8 mph is almost identical before and after cam,gears, all are right around 88.5 mph.
Re: WTF , Only .28 gain after mods. Go to weatherunderground.com, type in your track's zip code, and find out the DA of all your previous runs. I'm guessing it's all in the weather.
