We havn't done any recently like that, so I don't believe I have any pictures for you. We did do a similar tub job on a notchback mustang, but that's not much help to you. If we get a car in that takes this type of tub, i will definitely take some pictures and post them up.

Tee boy, I have a 28x10.5S on the car now, but am looking to go a good bit bigger,(29.5x10.5S at a minimum, probably a 31x10.5) and slam the car down on the ground... so I need alot of room in the tubs to do it.

Never spot weld the tub to the quarter panel. It will spider crack the paint. I take fiberglass matt and fiberglass it to the quarter and you'll never have a problem. plus it seals the smoke from getting inside the car. I would put aluminum tubs in it anyway. No sense in the extra weight

while brady has had some very nice cars, neither of them is slammed like what JL is talking about. You can get by with a minitub if it sits at that height. We're talking rocker 4" off the ground. The tire wont even fit in the fender well at that height, much less have the required amount of room above the tire. Big difference.
As far as the tub goes, you can tack it to the quarter all you want. Put a big engine in the car and get back to me in 2 seasons and let me know how the paint is where the tack welds are. I see this all to often in cars that come and go in my shop. Just passing on some pretty good info. Take it for what it's worth.

Can you use the panel bonding epoxy stuff that body shops use?

like 3m 8115? Yep you can, but if you ever need to take the tub out, its going to take awhile. haha.
Like I said before, cut some long 4 inch strips of fiberglass. Take some 80 grit and rough up the quarter and the tub, and fiberglass the quarter to the tub on the inside of the wheel well. This is how we do all the pro cars. the fiberglass is going to make that area solid as a rock, yet you can still easy cut it loose if you need to get the tub out. It also makes the trunk area look nice, instead of having 10 pounds of silicone pilled up in that area.
You may be asking why would you take the tub out? We've had rocks come through aluminum and carbon tubs from the burnout. If your using a steel tub, this may not be an issue, but If your spending thousands of dollars in lightweight parts, why are you using a heavy tub?

A rock thru an alum tub? Jesus I have heard of it with the carbon ones, but not an alum.
I was looking at using an alum tub yes, and then tacking it to the exterior, isn't really an option. The fiberglass will be the way to go.
I'm going to try to trim the interior plastic to fit back in the car (
) and if I can get it back in, what will be left of it anyway... the rest of everything will be covered in ozite carpet. Should look pretty nice when it's done I think
Yes, rocker about 4 inches off the ground with a 30 or 31 inch tire, that's what I'm looking for. That, and a nice long set of wheelie bars, so the thing will leave with the front tires about 3 to 4 inches off the ground like a prostock, and I'll be able to hit it with everything it's got, immediately.
