Isn't the pattern for a 4150 kind of rectangular shaped instead of completely square? I was thinking that the other day because I know the gasket will only go one way I believe. I don't want to turn it sideways because it looks like **** and even if I eliminate the nitrous plate its still not gonna clear the windshield. So, I'll be cutting the windshield just like this one is.

Any update pics? I have a 96 trans am with with an LQ4, Victor Jr., and carb. I dont mined having to turn it sideways, but what linkage do you use and how do you make the carb work since it will only be opening on one side at first?

It has to be a 4500 dominator flange carb and intake in order to turn the carb sideways. And there is something you have to do to the carb, but I can't remember what it is. If you do some google searches you can get the info you need for that.

you have to change the floats to the kidn that are used in a dual 4bbl type, so that way the gforce leaving the lien doesn't cause them to shift in the carb making the thing go pig fat and fall on it's face.
What parts you need I don't recall... but I know that's what has to be done.

I've got a Victor Jr, 4150 carb and a Edelbrock plate on my car. The screw on the top of the back bowl is about a 1/2" from the bottom of the windshield. There is just enough room to make the adjustments and get the lower part of the air cleaner on it.

Crazy question.
If you moved the engine foward say 1 " would that solve all the issues with the window clearance??? I know it will affect some weight transfer but make life a lot easer.

Bad idea moving the engine forward... that will screw with the weight distribution something terrible.
Just take the cowl, and cut it off. If the windshield is in the way, get speedglass, and build a dogbox back to the main flar surface of the firewall. problem solved, then you can fit 2 4bbl's mounted to a tunnel ram if you want.
If you're going carb, you're building a race car..... that's the only time I can see it being worth while. That being said, just cut it where you have to, speedglass isn't that expensive.
I'll put pic's up when I'm done, I have a project like this I am about to do this spring with my car, that will make putting pretty much anything in you want, doable.

Yea. I weny ahead and cut the cowl back. Now I have a good amount of room. The only problem I face now is trying to keep it under the stock 96 Ram Air hood Here is a pic. of my mockup.
