guys, gun drilling really doesnt hardly take any strength out of the axles like you think it does. also while you are at it get the axles star flanged

 

Somebody I know might just have 33-spline gundrilled, flange lightened axles in his Strange 12-bolt, but with a posi. He runs 1.40 flat to low 1.4x 60's, but on the footbrake. Picture of his car is below from yesterday WITH a 200# passenger!. (Thanks to Jerry Hua at www.dieseldigital.net).

Unfortunately, Strange won't gundrill 33's, but Moser will.

 

The spool I eun is the Strange one. you won't need additive for the posi unit now..

so far no problems, its not bad to drive, it just killed my dag radials in about 2 months.

I'll have to go to a harder 17" tire..

 

Im hoping to nget my parts in by wednesday, im waiting mainly on the yoke!!!

IMO If your gonna do the spool anyhow why not the 12 bolt 35 spline spool and axles (mark williams)

It is a 12 bolt, But to get 35 splin, it is about 5 week wait, they I couldnt find any to fit. They would have to be made.

 

here is my .02... a good riend of mine put in a strange 12 bolt, took the time to break it in on the street, went to the track 1 time .... and ba boom! holy ****! and strange customer service has been weak, if any! i am glad i have a Moser 9" Full locker w/35 spline gun driled axles! no flocking around!

mmmmmmm, Moser 9". i may be getting one soon, just found out tonight. getting a sick deal on it too. 4.11s in it. that's all i know about it at the moment.

 

To do it again, this is what i would do. But i have the case already, so its about $1,000 bucks cheaper to just go to a spool. I know that will be strong!
