Default Loss of rigidity due to armrest metal?

I started drilling spot welds for brackets and wondered if removing all the rear arm rest metal will make a difference in chassis rigidity?

honestly, what matters is a cage/bar and SFC's. i've never taken that metal out, but i really dont think it does much in the way of structural integrity.
