Also I need to do the black out border but dont know weater to do it with ratlecan or single stage car paint and a gun. anyone whos done this before please chime in I am trying to make it look as if they are stock windows if at all possible.

We use windsheild urethane. The RTV wont hold the windows in. Draw you a border around the window and sand the edge you want painted with 100 grit then we rattle can the border.

Madman I have a question.. when you're mounting the lexan with screws, what do you scrwe into on the factory hatch? Do ya put a metal insert in the fiberglass, just drill/tap the hatch and screw into it?

Same with the windshield, drill/tap it, threaded inserts, etc? Do you also put some sealant on the edge to stop them from leaking?

I bought the pre blacked out ones from percy's.... need to get on installing them.

Thanks for the input!

If you bought the Percys then I would glue them in with a factory gasket and be done with it.

Just install the black-outs like a factory windshield, you can get the molding from a local gm dealer for a totally sleeper look.

We are finishing up our documented removal and installation of the black-out drop-ins in the next few days, it will be posted on our site as well as link from our speedglass sales thread.

I was thinking about doing that.. but was concerned if the glue would be enough. I have seen a couple blow out @ the track and didn't want to take a chance.

If the glue is enough (heavy 6.0?) I'l take that route. Either way I was going to try to put the gasket on just so it looked as factory as possible.

I have screws already that I can use, stainless countersink ones Just not sure what they are supposed to thread into.

I'd love to just glue it in and be done with it, but like I said windshield or rear window ejecting themselves = not good.
