Default Results from adding drag shocks?

Wondering what results you have seen by installing drag shocks/springs? I'm debating on picking up the Strange's for my car but just want to make sure it would be worth my while...

I haven't ran the car with the current setup but with my old setup I was cutting late 1.6x 60's with M/T's. That was with stock shocks and Strano lowering springs. I have since added ~60rwhp, PT4000 over my old SS3600, cut 150lbs and added LCA brackets. I figure the car to run mid 11's and hit 1.5x-1.6x 60's as it sits.

Front shocks will def help with varing track conditions.11 sec cars imop they are a must, your also getting into a et of needing a real rear drag bar like the BMR or SPOHN.The car is going to want to torque over on launch making your 60 ft suffer.

I hope the thing launches straight so I don't have to put a rear drag bar on it yet, considering the car is primarily street driven at this point. Definetly going to opt for one when I save up the cash and grab a MWC 9", heard the MWC bars are easy to swap in and out for the stocker.

Anybody with any real world results from adding drag shocks??

I recently put on a set of Competition Engineering shocks on the rear. I have them on the 50/50 setting. I dont drive the car other than to and at the drag strip. I put them on after I installed my cam, and they more or less returned my 60ft to what it should be for my set-up. Not a huge difference, but better than my 13 year old factory shocks were. hope this helps.

Anyone else with results? Just trying to see if I absolutely need them where I'm at or if they would just be beneficial over my currents shock/spring setup.

Since you changed the set up, and added some power, you gotta go out and run the car and see where it sits. Conventional wisdom dictates it is better to have the ability to fine tune and dial in your car, rather then hoping stock will work.

You can stagger the rear shock settings to help keep it level, something that can allow you to get away without the drag bar. Can always put an airbag in the right rear spring to help that too.

Drag bar would work better, but those are a couple band aid's for not having one.

You'd benefit from the shocks. If you want to be able to get the car to leave as good as possible you will need the ability to change the suspension.

I'd try it as it sits simply to have a before and after you add them, and for no other real reason other then that.

Not to change the subject, you probally dont want a real anti-roll bar. But a good rear sway is fine on the street, I have a spohn soild 1inch, that newera had sitting around the shop without a box so cut me a great deal. It still had stock type endlinks, with poly bushings so its quite and everything. Other then the gay red, its great on the street. When I changed to the drag front shocks, and loosened them up withy no front sway. With slicks on at a 5K+ launch I was having to steer a little off the launch. Only one wheel was coming off the ground deffenatly. I still had stock rear shocks year, but mine are in better shape then your probally. The summit ones are dirt cheap, but I htink your gona need a better rear sway bar. Once you get the car moving some weight to the back.

I had one of those spohn bars, they certainly work better then stock. It's not a wolfe/spohn/bmr drag bar, but it's beter then nothing.

I looked at Spohn's website, that bar seems like a real nice alternative to a drag bar since the car is a street/strip car. I'm gonna see how the Strange shocks and springs work out and if I'm having some issues I'm going to pick that Spohn bar up. Thanks for the heads up guys.

I wouldn't recommend staggerind the valving on the shocks. Run an air bag to get you by until you can get a sway bar/antiroll.
