Post Disapointed in ET

Well, I am pretty disapointed in my ET that I got about 2 weeks ago at silver dollar, My mods are in the sig. My best was , 12.46@116mph with a 2.24 60ft. I cant figure out how to launch my car, when I dump the clutch it sounds like the *** end of my car is about to fall out it bangs so bad. I Dont have any suspension work done, I have even lowered my car, ill list my setup

437rwhp 410rwtq
eibach lowering springs
chrome zr1 rims
!back seat
!spare
Nitto 315/35/17 s
stock 10bolt with 3.42s

I have been extremely mad about my 60 ft times, I cant figure it out, yesterday I ordered a Strange 12bolt with 4.10s, and a set of draglite's and skinnies, which size tire should I run with the draglites(15x10)? Would it help me to just put my stock springs back on the car? Im gettin frustrated cause I see M6 cars with the same setup runnin 11.5ish, I have come to the conclusion that either im a HORRIBLE driver, or my car just isnt setup at all, or both. When I launch the car, I do about a 10second burnout and heat up the nittos pretty good, I launch at around 3000 and it usually spins a little then bogs.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your car is not set up at all. You have the power, now you just need to put it to the ground. Your car is waaaaaaaayyy too low for any kind of weight transfer, and your rear is shot. You were spinning one wheel the entire day. Put some stock springs back in and get the rear, and 11.4's are yours. Also, 15 X 10's are the way to go.

Your ET looks fine to me. I'd be worried about that MPH. 116 mph with almost 440 rwhp? Even with 3:42's that car should be running NO LESS than 118 mph in the 1/4. Back when I only had bolt ons I ran consistant 113 mph traps at SDR in spring weather. Not trying to bust your *****, but IMO you should be getting a LOT more mph outta that car. A set of 4:10's would be highly recommended. If you're running 11.40's now with 3:42's, a better suspension setup, hard launch, and 4:10's would put you in the 10's. 4:10's will pull more MPH out of the car also. Good luck...

When you get your suspension and get it set up, with some good 60fts and weather you should see 10s. if you get your 60ft down to some 1.5 - 1.6's that right there is .4 off your time.

Hhmmm...116 is not bad i dont think for those gears and that ET. Although josh is right, with your hp, you should be 118-120 easily. I didnt get a solid run when i was at SDR for the shootout but managed a best of 12.6 @ 85 (3-2miss (ouch) and coasted that. but that was with a 1.71 60ft (best so far). i still got to get tuned and see what it can do.

Just get your suspension set up and save for that rear.

Just to compare, Alen's car, running 427 at the wheels, was trapping 115-116 all day long, and running 12.4s. I managed to get it down to 11.99 at 117 though.

SO do you think most of my problems are with my car being lowered, and my posi being out?

As soon as I get the stock springs back on the car, the 12bolt , and the slicks and skinnies what kinda ET do you thnk I could be lookin at?

Morgan, be careful taking advice about drag racing from Josh. He doesnt actually ever GO to the track with anything fast. He just has a play station with a drag racing game in his bedroom beside his laptop with the Drag racing forum on LS1tech

Your car was running slow for the power it makes. A couple reasons why. WAAAAYY under geared for the cam you run. Like we talked about 4:30s will put you where you need to be. #2, your posi is GONE, and when you left the line you would only spin one tire halfway down the track. Looked like **** man. Ive got it on video. #3 You cant shift, I mean that in the nicest way bro, but that will all come in time. Trust me. You obviously got alot better the other night at Dallas, and if you to the math on your improved 1/8 your 1/4 improved DRASTICALLY.

FWIW, I was down about 3mph on motor @ SDR that day and had to work my *** off to get into the 10s on motor. It wasnt a great day for ETs.

Get the 12 bolt on there, some Hals( or atleast put stock springs back in), some good slicks/skinnies(27"s) and go work on your 60' and shifting. I think you will be QUITE happy with the results.

Also, throw in a fresh set of TR55s and change the oil

Yo CamminPrick, i've killed for less :p

As Ron said, your driving, and drivetrain are going to have a LOT to do with it. Improve your driving, 4:30's, 12 bolt, and your car will run good.

And don't pay attention to Ron, he only wish's his **** was half as wide as his mouth.

Don't you worry about me, i'll be soon to represent once I get a good tune and some tires
