motor plate/engine location My question is how do i know where to place the motor plate? I am putting together a 406 sbc in a 97 camaro and am not sure where the engine sits front to back in the car. I have not bought the plate yet, so would there be directions that come along with it? Sorry if this is a dumb question but i have access to all tools and equipment to put my car together. Thanks guys.

The way I install them is bolt the trans in the crossmember and then install the front plates.

I thought using the tranny would probably be the way to go. I am trying to mock up the engine so that i can trim the cowl the way i want it. What do you think about a mid plate? Is there more stress on the trans because of no motor mounts?
